water meter fitted, not using much water

Mine was the best part of £50 a month before I switched to a meter, now my bills are about £15 a month in total including all the waste water charges etc. The actual amount of water I generally use is tiny. Quick shower every morning, washing up in the evening, washing machine once or twice a week..

I have just got a £55.80 bill that according to the itemization is for £1.30 of water lmao (the rest is standing charge, sewerage, sewerage standing charge and tax I think).

Gotta love it :P

I was shocked when we got our first bill in our new place, it was £115 for 6 months on a meter. This is with two of us and with me being a student, I'm at home a lot during the day.

The last time we were on awater meter was when we lived with my parents and itwas nearly 500 quid over the same period.

there are 3 of us (me, wife and baby + dog) and we only spend around £30/mth on water and we have the washing machine on every day + a dish washer etc. all our gadgets are low energy and low water consumption. we also use water butts for the garden/house plants. not like the garden needed a water this year so far!!!

you were being royally ripped off! can you get a refund for some of that?!

Mine is £36 a month, and everyone who has talked to me says I need to change over. I'm a single guy, living alone. I get 2 showers per day, morning and night. general usage through the day, People recon I'd probably pay about £10 a month if I make the change.

So I'm tempted to try it.

Mine was about £110 for 6 months, for me living on my own. I probably use dishwasher and washing machine twice a week each and shower 10 times a week. Was probably a little bit less than I budget for when I bought my place (I budgeted about £100/month on utilities and my leccy is about £40 a month - the girl below me has her heating on all the time which conveniently means my flat is always warm enough not to bother)

Just moved into a house (2 of us living there) and I was curious as to what our water bill would be as we are metered and had a lot of negativity towards them from others. This thread has put my mind at ease though :) 2 people, 1 shower each a day, no dishwasher and 2 lots of washing a week. we should get a nice low bill :D

I pay £340 a year and can go as mental as I like and not have to worry about how much I'm using, I will try and avoid getting a water meter for as long as possible especially as I expect I will be having kids in.the next few years. They don't fit them for free for your benifit, same goes for electricity smart meters which can auto cutoff on late payment.

Edit, although in OPs situation he's on to a winner.
