well guys, years ago i saw my friends water cooling system, and remember the utter hassle he had setting it up buying seperate parts and modding his case.

I decided to get lian-li v1000 / koolance all in one system.

Very happy I did, i had a load of messing it took me hours to setup. i cut the pipes too short and when i came to fit the parts to the board there was kinks in the pipes :(.

Here is a pic of the final product

- edit picture link now working guys!

The block is the danger den 8800gtx block, i decided to stick with 1/2" tubing as the flow rate is much better!

I was previously running a tuniq tower and three 37db case fans, my temps with my cpu at 3000mhz under load where around 65c. Sometimes more! the problem is where i store my pc is under a desk near my sub which generates a lot of heat. I have nowhere else to put it so im kinda stuck with this!

I am over the moon with my temps, my idle temps are around 35c. I have not seen my temps raise above 44c under load and my CPU is back upto 3.4ghz setting! im definitely going to push it further, i'm amazed I really didn't expect it to work so well. I'm running the fans at speed 8 / 10 and it's so much quieter than i'm use to with running YStech fans.

What i will do is add a motherboard chipset block as the temps for this have reached 47c under load.

All a chipset block will do is add restriction for no gain whatsoever in overclockability. They're a waste, just stick with CPU/GPU. :)

werd.

if you are concerned about mobo temps then just add a zalman or thermalright heatsink.

anyway, welcome to the world of watercooling...it's indeed a great way to cool. :)

I have a very similar problem to you with my computer sitting pretty much in front of the room's radiator, and there's nowhere else that the computer can really sit!

The pic in the link seems to be broken. I definately want to see the pic.

Really looking forward to my watercooling bits that will be here next week :D

Not always, depends on the users need.

If you have a big case where air flow through the thing isn't the best then a passive sollution isn't always the best.

So if you want as least fans that are quiet as you want in your system then waterblocks on the northbridge are great.

Flow is probably the most over exaggerated part of watercooling people worry about.

I run an X1900XT (Maze 5), C2D (FuZion), RD600 (The hottest NB for the intel platform with a DD975x block) all on a PA120.2.

Load temps for GPU are 40 degrees, CPU is 44 load in TAT at 1.4v and NB loads at 48 degrees.

Can't tell if the watercooled NB makes a difference as it's never been ran on air, but it makes a difference to not have my case fans at full pelt :)
