Hi all,

i took what i think are some really good pictures at donnington festival this year, and wouldnt mind putting them online for people to have a look see.

but what i dont want is people stealing them and saying they took them or using them without crediting me or me being able to prove that i took them. probably not a chance of them getting used but i'd like to have my name tagged into them somehow.

is there any simple way this can be done so it cannot be easily removed?

ive got Photoshop but the embed watermark thing didnt seem to have much in it

any help would be greatly appreciated, cheers.

Matt

You can make an overlay layer and add your text into that, adjust the opacity of the layer to a level you are happy with and then save for the web in the save options. Also place the text where any attempts to remove it would mean a lot of work for the person attempting to steal it.

I usually also upload my pictures to DA at 800x600 max and a lower quality so there isn't the urge for them to be abused by a sneaky photo thief.

Design your copyright logo and turn it into a custom brush in Photoshop.

Create logo, drag a selection box around at then click Edit - Define Brush Preset. It'll appear at the end of the brush drop down list.

Lets you alter opacity, size etc with ease.

Apart from putting something visibly on your photos ,which is probably the best idea , there is also something called Stenography , in which you can embed a file within the photograph.Of course, it would be invisible but could be recalled upon if needed ,like say a text file with all the particulars as proof of ownership. I have heard of people putting pictures within pictures. I've seen lots of these programs over the years , but have never used any.Have any of you ??
