Great little boxes, used it with my old TV, oddly now, my samsung TV does virtually everything directly which is great, the wdtv has been relegated to another room.

I have one of the second model, the WDTV Live and it's brilliant for most things but for some reason I just could not get it to play a stream from my upnp media server for more than about 2 mins before it crashed. I tried everything I could think of and nothing fixed it so I went back to my trusty old xbox running XBMC and that wortked perfectly straight away...

A cold place
I've had a WDTV live for a few months now, apart from initial problems sharing my media (my fault tbh) it has been perfect.

It just sits there & does the job, no noise, no fuss, it just works.
