we buy any car LOL @ my quote

They're never going to offer a good price, after all it's all about convenience which is what a lot of people are after these days, rather than the hard sell in a dealer or at their homes

£1100 on my astra but it does need a bit of body work doing.
Only sell on auto trader for 1800-2500 though so not unexpected.

So you can knock another 400 quid off atleast.

I understand them being fair game for being a quick deal, but I dont think people are realising the tactics they are using. Why not just have people take the car down there, then give them a price? The online quote is the carrot. And the online quote tends to be a lot more than on the day. The staff are on commision & are trained to knock up to 48% off what they offerred online.
This is what is in question at the moment, not so much what they are offerring in the first place really. Wish I could remember where I saw the article. Hopefully i'll find the link for it.

I saw an old Merc today with the number plate 'HI', was amazed to see it on what looked to me like some sort of old E or S class, late 90's early 00's era.

Offered £700 for a mk2 MX5 with 109k on the clock.

Oh well, it made me smile at least, which was the intended purpose.

I sold my missus car (206cc) with "We want your wheels" ........ dot com. I tried them and "we buy any", we buy any quoted £3500, we want your quoted £5000! I had the car on ebay at £5k or near offer for a month with no interest at all. With we want your wheels you have to take the car to one of their approved garages, just a garage that has signed up to the sceme and get paid a fee to poke round it. After the inspection they offered £4000 which I was quite happy to take! reason being the mot/tax and insurance ran out in 3weeks, grand total of £900 for those, so no brainer to sell there and then.

its a fun thing to use to key in random numbers and see what comes up. Sad maybe, but [WRC 1] = Bugeye scooby.
Can we turn it into a game? most impressive random find? dont cheat with ones u know already :P

[LOL 1] - 1994 pug 405 now that is lol

They offered £120 online for my crapmobile 1996 Accord with rusty arches, which has just failed its MOT.

That's not actually that bad, but I imagine they'd knock a lot off that after seeing it in its full crapnificence.

I got my Fiesta valued by them. When I took it to them they couldn't find a single thing to mark it down with, but still offered me £700 less than the online quote!

Strangely enough I refused, and sold it for more than their online quote anyway.

I'm thinking of selling my ST Fiesta so thought I'd see what they offer, their quote was £5,050 which I didn't think was too bad, but then they would probably knock a chunk off at the inspection as it has 3 dents in one panel from people hitting it with doors :( and also a scuff on the interior plastic where I put my bike in!
