we buy any car LOL @ my quote

We buy any car has just quoted me £425 for my silly mile 5 series.

I'm quite sure I'd easily double that if I stuck it on P/H.

Not that it matters, I'm keeping it for a bit yet. :)

Edit: I just got an e-mail from them with this at the end of it....

Online valuations are subject to in-branch inspection and contract. A transaction fee applies on purchase. Based on a purchase price of £425, an transaction fee of £49.99 including VAT will apply.

So they buy my car, and I pay them for doing so!

I'm in the wrong business! :D

Sorry for the bump, but for example if webuyanycar offered circa 2.5k for a car in good nick, in reality the person could expect anything upto 1k more (potentially depending on the car etc)?

Also are webuyanycar indicative of what a dealer might offer for part-ex?

They offered me 6k for my E60 530i, which is 4k more than BMW would offer me as part x against another car.

When I put the numberplate of the car I was thinking of buying in, it came out 5k cheaper.

They also bombard you with reminder e-mails every few weeks wondering if you are going to sell etc.

If that is the on line quote you will be offered considerably less when you take it for them to inspect on the day before they buy. They live in the hope you can't be ar$ed to drive it back home again and will accept their pitiful offer.

Just got rid of my 2000 Fabia Comfort. Sad to see it go but needed something bigger. Sold it on auction at the bay with a detailed list of what was wrong with it (needed brake discs, pads, shoes drums, front ARB bush, rear bumper reseat, new rear wiper motor and washer hose, corroded drive shaft nut that would make removal difficult, previous collision repairs - but a few new parts, FSH and a the rest of this year left on MOT though).

Ebay auction got me just over £400 and was collected yesterday. WBAC valued it at £168 with £50 admin fee online. I suspect they'd have tried knocking me down further had I taken it there.
