Funny thing, considering how many of us enjoyed the quality work he shared in volume, I actually thought Raymond would get something like Man Of The Year title, for making the place better and more interesting.
And the crowd of true and obvious commercial self advertisers still stand unaffected months later, even in this very thread.
 
Think I am going to have to start posting my wedding work, always get left out of these convos :D

Kind of you to say. :)

All I wanted to do was share photos, except there is one person who disagree so what can you do? If he doesn't want it then i am taking it somewhere else. I am still taking them, still sharing elsewhere but will never again show them here. I will not let someone dictate what i can or cannot put on my own photographs.

Not trying to poke the hornet's nest but what is the actual rule now (is there a link to a clear FAQ/rule)?

Is it no pics with watermarks/links or only none allowed if you earn money from photography? :confused:

None, that was my problem. Got suspension for a 2 years old thread/photos, when asked more about it in a calm and respectful manner. I didn't get an answer but got suspended for "causing trouble".

He clearly does not want me posting photograph here.
 
For my wedding we did do a lot of research and decided by number of photos in album, location of tog, price, and what we should have was look into reviews.
I was not happy with our tog for number of reasons.
Though I did have friends who contact people who were there to get their digi pics.
We also put some instant disposalable cameras on tables.
This worked really well and we got some great shots.

Haven't posted here for a while either, and completely missed this, and the watermark rule. Such a shame really, and completely unnecessary IMO. PM me a link to your photo thread on another forum please, Ray? :)

I dare not even risk linking that since even my Flickr link in my sig was removed. Someone basically stripped away all my rights to post photos on here. Which is no big deal, it's not my loss, I just share it somewhere else. Plus, I feel like saying my own name may break "no self promotion" rule!

Just search threads started by me in TP :)

didn't know about the trouble you had and im quite shocked about it to be honest.

i have always liked your photo's and always looked forward to a new batch from you,just a shame one person didnt like it.

im interested in your photos still and would like to see the new one's you have done.
 
A shame you no longer post here Raymond and quite a strange course of action, e.g. removing a flickr link.


however, I dislike watermarks so don't see the big problem in general. I guess if the forum doesn't want to allow advertising of personal business which makes sense then stopping watermarks makes some sense. Copyright info can be included in EXIF and if someone likes your work then they can click your trust and contact you anyway.

I said to my other half whilst going through your shots that It kinda makes you want to get married looking at the fantastic shots you take. She got all excited and said really. So sorry pal I had to backtrack. Theyre good but not that good.;)

I have less problem with the rule, more with how it unraveled and the events that followed. It could have been completely different if someone was not so trigger happy. I asked a question. He clicked suspension. Putting aside the use of watermark, out of principle alone I am not going to post them here. Who knows, next time the goal post might read "that looks like one of yours, its advertising!".

Haha, thanks, I actually hear that quite a lot (/embarrassed), it is a very nice compliment :)

i have to say the way ocuk handled the whole incdent was terrible and its now everyones loss that raymond doesnt post his photos here anymore (and i dont blame him)
 
:( very poor always enjoyed Raymond photos. At least we still get to see them on a better photography forum anyway.
 
If you go back only a couple of years, you'll see a lot of quality photographers have stopped posting here for one reason or another. It's quite annoying really as it used to be a productive forum. Now you have to look on another forum, which has a much higher user count, resulting lots of silly comments :(
