Weekend Deal - 50% OFF on Killing Floor and DLC

I'll fully recommend this game, brilliant fun, even on public servers. Closest comparison is the zombie mode on World at War (sealing up doors, buying weapons, waves of zombies), but Killing Floor takes it to a whole much better level.

Damn I think I'll reinstall now!

Yeah...from all accounts the new balance "fixes" are somewhat rubbish :/

Tbh...not sure why they didn't just make the xbow lower damage rather than heavier. Odd.

I've not used the SCAR but i've seen 1 mention saying its been chainsawed, though that may be an overreaction. They didn't make the Xbow heavier, just the M14 and i don't even know what that was supposed to do. They did make it more expensive but that didn't make a difference in the slightest... except for allowing the SS to sell it for 600 after spawning instead of 300, a significant boost.

yeah, they could really concerntrate making the weapons a lot better, like different upgrades for certain weapons, for what perk you are.

they seem just to make more levels, what about more zombie types.

Have you even played the game? The weapons don't need upgrades and perks get significantly better stats for there weapons as it is. They are already horribly unbalanced, adding more would only make it worse, as the Mac10 seems to prove. And what new specimens? What the hell does the game need? The Husk filled a gap that was easy to abuse, there is no need to randomly add more.

is this game mainly based around the coop play, or is there a decent single player game here?

Coop really. It has singleplayer but thats just the coop on your own pretty much.

Ah yeah.. read a bit more about it after my post. Quite comical really. They've clearly just rushed this out so they can claim to be supporting the community. You'd think just a minute of thought would be enough to realised that was a bad idea though.

Yeah it does seem that way. They're getting a bit defensive about it because a lot of people were a bit disappointed by the lack of effort after a years time to balance. I can only go back to the Xbow change because it made literally no difference.

It helps if you give a real reason why the game could use more specimens other than 'it would be cool'.

And no they are not zombies, not even close.

This is actually a pretty good game for a quick blast! It's deffinitely not in the same vein as L4D2, I prefer the enemies being a little slower.

This is more of a "barricade up and keep them out" whereas L4D2 is more of a rushing type of game. If that even makes sense :p

For £7.49 or whatever it is though, i'd say well worth a buy.

** Oh, I believe I also have 2 Guest Passes for this, if someone wants to give it a try?

I think the first thing you need to do is relax. All of your posts in this thread (other than your first) have made you come across as a complete tool. I havent even played the damn game but even I can decipher why more enemy types is a bonus to a game. Leave people to their own opinions.

/rant over.

I have to say, i've only played it for a few hours but you can already tell the enemies aren't that diverse.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think you'd get bored of the awesome way the subjects heads explode when you blast them, but still ;)

It's a game that is awesome with a decent squad all using voice comms... but as you say, the variation isn't as great as it could be. Most people I know got bored after a couple of weeks of play (though I personally enjoyed it for near 300 hours of play total iirc).

So try putting your money where your mouth is since you seem to have such a big one. Come on, ideas please? Something that fills a gap in the specimens assault. Oh and something that TWI devs can do in there spare time since they aren't planning to do anything as big as putting a new specimen in anymore.

... nothing? No didn't think so.

They aren't diverse? Sure most of them are melee attackers but you may aswell try saying the Special Infected from L4D aren't diverse... slow tanks puking acid, dashing attackers, slow grabbing cannon fodder, ankle biters, stealth attacks, PBAoE, ranged AoE... etc

Touched a nerve I think :P. From the very little I have seen and heard of this game the enemies are pretty much melee attackers. Why not include a specimen which slows the player down? In a similar fasion to a choker on L4D. Not completly leaving the player incapacitated, but slowing them which would increase the suspense and tension of the game.

Or an enemy which if it comes into contact with a player blinds them temporarily for a period of time say 5 or 10 seconds.

Flying enemies ? Maybe similar to the crawler in one sense but it would drastically change the dynamics of the game.

Maybe even a specimen that cloaks itself to look like a friendly ally giving it the oppurtunity to get up close and personal to the players.

The list goes on and on and I thought of that list in less then 5 mins not even playing the game.

The fact of the matter is the developers whilst making the game will have had more ideas then 10 for the enemies which is all there is right now. Dave1983 was making a recommendation which you saw to undermine hence why I posted. Simply put you seem to come across as a font of all knowledge for the game which you are not.

So the clot grabbing people preventing them from moving doesn't count? And i believe bile and fire slows you down too. And the choker... assuming you mean Smoker, has nothing to do with slowing the player down... infact no L4D infected does (cept the commons hitting you with an attack).

Or an enemy which if it comes into contact with a player blinds them temporarily for a period of time say 5 or 10 seconds.

To some extent bloat bile and burning too i think, of which i believe the original Boomer was based on. complete blindness would be absolutely lame.

Perhaps but would also need some serious AI overhauls as theres no way it could handle it atm and would be more or less useless in indoor levels.

Team Fortress 2 player? The Stalker already cloaks herself, cloaking as an ally would just get silly. Especially given that next to no servers use FF.

Only flying in that list actually fills a gap and there are probably a lot of reasons why flying enemies weren't included... aside from the fact they weren't in the mod anyway.

having played this game for over 300hrs, you get boored with the same monsters/zombies what ever you want to call them, i was thinking that maybe they should have fresh material.

I.e you buy a scar, but it can be upgraded at a cost so you have higher magazine rounds, or a higher scope, different types of bullets, but each weapons have there own upgrades. also perks can have upgradable items such a medic, once you get into a level you buy faster heal, or can run quicker, faster reload. the amount of content that can be included. is loads.
