Good weekend of televised football from Sky for once.

No Torres/Alonso for Liverpool and Mascherano has been over the other side of the world playing. They'll do well to get something out of Chelsea, who have Lampard fit again apparantly.

No Rooney or Evra for United. Expecting the following team:

VdS
Brown - Ferdinand - Vidic - O'Shea
Nani - Scholes - Carrick - Giggs
Ronaldo - Tevez

Would play Anderson but since neither Scholes or Carrick played in midweek I expect Fergie to select those two. Possibility of Neville making the bench.

United will be wearing the following kit on Sunday:

They are aren't they? I remember reading something a while ago about Ronaldo having black boots made for this match.

Newcastle were pretty poor, no creativity anywhere on the pitch bar Milner trying to bundle his way through defenders every so often.

Even players like Duff look very average playing at Newcastle. I remember gulping everytime he got the ball when playing for Chelsea but now he just doesn't seem upto it.

Interesting point about Barry though. For Villa he really doesn't play the role he was asked to play for England the other night. Don't think the 5 man England midfield suits him at all, hence he looked a lot better when he was alongside Gerrard in the 4-4-2 a few months ago.

Apparantly Fergie has stated that Danny Wellbeck may be involved tomorrow. I'm all for giving him a chance but not at this stage of the season. Hopefully the occasion isn't behind Fergie contemplating this.

Feel free to mock me if he scores.

Totally agree.
Ferguson WILL play Giggs upfront in the worst of our continual formations. There are so many better alternatives, but that's what he'll go for.

I actually have faith and don't think he will following Ronaldo's last outing upfront.

Nani - Carrick/Anderson - Scholes - Giggs
Ronaldo - Tevez

In other news, Howard Webb is the referee so at least that means there won't be no silly straight reds (I hope).

Not playing well at all and City look dangerous everytime they go forward. No linkup (Rooney) between midfield and attack. I'd be tempted to bring Carrick on for Nani, have Ronaldo and Giggs out wide and tell Anderson to push up.

Well, we aren't gonna get near Arsenal playing like that, so hopefully Chelsea stuff Liverpool and put up a better challenge.

Liverpool have looked surprisingly OK in the first half. Could end up rueing(sp?) the chance Crouch had though.

I wish I could share your confidence :p

Interesting stat regarding Rooney:

With him:
Played 16
Won 13
Lost 0
Scored 41

Without him:
Played 10
Won 5
Lost 4
Scored 9

Only hope I see for Blackburn is to attack Arsenal otherwise they'll get dominated. If they are struggling at half time they should get Roberts on ASAP to ruffle a few feathers.

Meh, Blackburn were alright but fairly clueless when it came to getting the ball between midfield and attack.

Arsenal were below par but did enough.
