Weekend Football *SPOILERS* 9-11 February

I have a funny feeling we'll balls it. (Villa, that is)

No Gabby will be quite a loss, but I'm often proven wrong, so we'll see.
I've gone for a Newcastle win. Strugglers in dire need of a win, against high-flyers, challenging for Europe. Only one outcome, right? ;)

Dazza, I think we missed Ashley Young last week more than we would miss Gabby this week, due to his quality in service -we were very lucky to of scored at all against Fulham, and created very little. I also think it might work out well for Gabby, as he needed a break - he was looking a little jaded.

Gives a chance for big Marlon, who has looked hungry when he has made his cameos from the bench, or Luke Moore, who has lost his way a little.

I'm going for a brave home win, 2-1, with Big John notching the winner off his ear.

COME ON THE WANDERERS! Need another win off the back of our win at Reading last week, lets keep the ball rolling lads! GINGER MOURINHO!!!!!!!!!!!

All hail Keegan.

I said at the time that Allardyce was the man, he was getting things sorted and it was a 3 year plan. Allardyce is a very good manager and he should have been left in the job.
Mike Ashley was blinded by stupid Newcastle fans.

Not sure Allardyce was the man for the job. He looked well out of his depth; spent very poorly and was playing people out of position in a system that wasn't working. He also seemed to have next to no influence on the players (which was a suprise). When we played them it was about as bad a Newcastle performance as i can remember seeing; terrible defensively, no threat going forward and had no interest in putting up any sort of fight.

Keegan certainly isn't the man for the job either btw.

Keegan - "I know what the fans want, and i'm going to give it them......" well done king kev keep up the good work :)

Yet more brilliant tactical awareness from Keegan bringing Emre on when they are 3-1 down with Viduka sat on the bench . Madness !!!! LOL

In fairness, Newcastle is the hardest job in English football. Allardyce didn't spend _that_ poorly, he strengthened areas that desperately needed it and got rid of wasters, attitudes and players who aren't good enough.

He was limited as to who would come and a lot of his players had injuries. Sure he could have spent better, who couldn't. All managers are guilty of it, Ferguson and Benitez are as guilty as anyone for that BaZ as we well know.

Newcastle were very unlucky a lot of times under Allardyce, I read a list not too long ago and it was gobsmacking at some of the decisions and how it cost them and eventually cost him his job. Allardyce would be the first to tell you he should have done better, but by Christ, they could have done a lot worse (as we are now seeing).

You're right all managers could spend better but I can't think of one player he brought in that has strengthened Newcastle. He took over a side that poor at the back but a threat going forward and all he changed was to take away the threat going forward.

His biggest problem was tactically; he had a system at Bolton that worked because he had players suited to playing that way. He's gone to Newcastle and he tried to replicate that system with the players at Newcastle, when that didn't work because of the players he had he struggled to find a new system. The guy is suited to managing clubs like Bolton, moving to Newcastle has shown he can't adapt tactically and can't work with a better standard of player.

I have absolutely no sympathy for Newcastle after they sacked Allardyce .. I almost want them to go down for their stupidity, but that would be pretty spiteful .. I really just pity the board and the owner

Oh dear, its another hiding.

Any team that is half decent isnt just beating Newcastle, its destroying them, he has to work some of his magic pretty damn quick or they are going down.

I cant see him steering that team to anymore than 35 points this season, Steve Bruce said on the radio yesterday he thinks a team is going to need 38 to stay up.
Who have they got in the last 12 games and where?
