Weekend Football *SPOILERS* 9-11 February

How anyone can defend Allardyce is a joke, we are in this position because of his pathetic - confidence draining - long ball - treat Derby as if they are Real Madrid mentality.

KK has a massive job on his hands, we need to bring in at least 4 QUALITY and CREATIVE players for the FIRST TEAM, and to ship out people like Carr, Butt, Barton (gives ball away and too slow on ball).

We played some of the worst football I have EVER witnessed, under Sam Allardyce, and I was glad to see the back of him and his pathetic arrogance.
Last week on Sky he said "I knew how to beat the BIG 4 CONSISTENTLY" is that why we got absolutely pummelled 3-0 vs Liverpool and 2-0 to Arsenal?

Non-Newcastle fans have this weird obsession with Allardyce, but the simple truth is, he got found out, the job was too big for him, and he did nothing of note at Bolton, Megson is doing the same pretty much.

As for today, well, Carr needs to go it's as simple as that, how he is in the team is beyond me.

We are SO SLOW on the attack, it's almost like you could go and make a cup of tea while we are passing in their final third, then we give the ball away anyway!

It will come good for us, but this season is finished.

I agree totally with pretty much everything said above^

The only players who looks like they care and have any passion are Taylor and Milner, Milner's non stop work today deserved better than being crushed 4-1 again, shame no one else carries his worth ethic.

We didn't play terribly, but when Milner or Duff was attacking there was no support.

He did nothing of note at Bolton? You obviously have no concept of context. Building Bolton up over a few years was quite an achievement.

Newcastle had better hope that the points they got under Allardyce are enough to keep them up. They are not going to get many under Keegan however long he stays.

Yes because King Kev is obviously wor messiah :p

Funny how a lot of managers have respect for Allardyce for his technical and tactical knowledge yet a lot of ex England players slate Keegan for his tactical and technical ineptitude.

Newcastle were pretty poor, no creativity anywhere on the pitch bar Milner trying to bundle his way through defenders every so often.

Even players like Duff look very average playing at Newcastle. I remember gulping everytime he got the ball when playing for Chelsea but now he just doesn't seem upto it.

Interesting point about Barry though. For Villa he really doesn't play the role he was asked to play for England the other night. Don't think the 5 man England midfield suits him at all, hence he looked a lot better when he was alongside Gerrard in the 4-4-2 a few months ago.

Probable line-up

--------------Cerny-------------
Hutton--Dawson--Huddlestone--Chimbonda
Lennon--Jenas--O'Hara--Malbranque
--------Berbatov--Keane--------

Actual:

* 12 Cerny
* 28 Hutton
* 20 Dawson
* 22 Huddlestone
* 02 Chimbonda
* 25 Lennon
* 08 Jenas
* 15 Malbranque
* 17 Boateng
* 10 Keane
* 23 Bent

Substitutes

* 01 Robinson,
* 05 Kaboul,
* 09 Berbatov,
* 24 O'Hara,
* 44 Gunter

Surprised to see Boateng and Bent both start, should be a good test for Bent. His pace should rip Derby apart. If Boateng doesn't impress I'm sure O'Hara will be on within 60 mins.

Barrys role at Villa is 1) receive ball from Reo-Coker 2) pass to Ashley Young 3) rinse and repeat 4) Take penalty

Ask anymore of him e.g. ask him to play behind Gerrard and Jenas, defend and distribute and he is well and truly lost and out of depth

You do disservice to Barry, he is very technically able player: he would have Englands Left midfield spot tied up if he had a couple more yards of pace in my opinion.

Thing is, the only tactical skills Allardyce had for us, was how to put people in the wrong position on a consistent basis, and how to launch balls long every minute of the game.
Being scared of other teams, setting out to 'contain' them rather than let them worry about how WE will play.

That's a fair point but by the same token, did Newcastle have the players fit and able to play in their correct positions. For example when Owen was fit he played him up front.

Keegans first game in charge he plays an unfit Owen as the second striker with Rozenhal in the centre of midfield :confused: As long as I have a hole in my ass, Owen is not , never has been or never will be a second or support striker

Yeah .. thats all well and good .. but what Newcastle fans tend to overlook is that they don't actually have the quality to make teams worry about how they will play.

Trust me mate;

Zog at LB
Milner on the Left
Duff on the Right
Smith on the Right Wing
Geremi on the right wing

Examples of some of his out of position tactics.

Rosbif > Thats a defeatist attitude, and pathetic.

Are you suggesting, no matter what, that WE should be scared of Derby?! Don't make me laugh!

I'd put money on Allardyce coming out of the newcasle job with more diginity than Keegan does. Keegan is clueless, Allardyce had made inroads to what was a diabolical defence and average team. He had you mid table and picking up points which is something Keegan won't do.

I'm suggesting that given the resources available the team should be organised in a way that gives them the best chance of achieving a win.

I certainly endorse the long term objective of building a squad that plays sexy slick attacking football but you have got to be pragmatic when you're lumbered with a crap squad.

Hilarious.
