Weekend Football Thread. 7-9 *spoilers*

I've never once jumped, with me leg straight out raised above MY waist, with my leg at right angles.

put "evans on drogba" into youtube, not only is it completely and utterly deliberate, you even SEE him deliberately kick him, not just catch him, you see his leg pulled back , he looks down, see's drogba and extends his leg causing a much worse contact.

Sorry but thats completely on purpose, theres multiple angles of it, his leg is higher than at all necessary just to jump and the massively obvious and deliberate extra power he put in the kick right before contact is damning. He meant to do it, its a red card and frankly a red card + extra ban for being just flat out assault.

Getting fed up with accidental tackles being treated the same as intent to injure assaults.

He put his leg out to stop Drogba from clattering into him while he was up in the air, winning a ball Drogba had no chance of getting to but still running full pelt towards. It was defensive more than anything as Drogba running into him could have resulted in Evans landing awkwardly. Though I am suprised he wasn't booked. Drogba made an absolute meal out of it twitching like an eejit but of course the pain suddenly disappeared when he seen the yellow card coming out and when he turned to mouth off at VDS who was telling him to hurry up and get off the pitch.

That's the one I thought it was. Seems dm has just created another pack of lies to vilify a player he doesn't like.

A pack of lies? so in your opinion that one decision is he didn't dive, when he really really did. There wasn't contact, why did he go down if not diving. Ok maybe he was tired and wanted a nap, seems a little odd to do that in the middle of a match.

IT was his normal blantant diving he does every game, theres a ridiculous amount of video evidence all over the net that he dives more than basically anyone in the premierleague, I'm vilifying a player by calling a known diver a diver?

SO you've turned one apparent lie, into a pack, to exagerate your claim, and frankly you're wrong so there you go.

I think the only reason he didn't do his usual screaming at the ref for a penalty is he realised he didn't make it look good enough, though he has of course dived 3 yards clear of anyone and screamed at the ref for not giving a penalty before.

... and that's where I stopped reading. Anyone else go for longer? I think I did pretty well.

FUnny, after the yellow he looked in a lot of pain, also entirely strange he acting like a lemon after running full pelt into someone who kicked him with his studs right in the chest.

Defensive is one thing, studs in and putting extra force into your leg is an entirely different thing. Frankly if his leg wasn't sticking out, there wouldn't have been any contact at all, so defensive I call bull because other than his foot Evans had no contact made on him by Drogba, who was running to put pressure on him and DID NOT jump into him, if he had of done, you would have seen, i dunno, Drogba hitting Evans, which he didn't do, he hit his foot, which was a metre to the side of Evans.

Evans' eyes were on the ball as it happened, the only reason Drogba didn't clatter into him was because Evans put his leg out and stopped him. Watch it again. Even Lampard took one look at Drogba and walked away totally unconcerned.

We were totally robbed tonight. 18 attempts on goal to their 2 on target which were both from pens. We played brilliantly, if Macken could finish it'd have been game over.

The first penalty decision was a joke, Steele got his hand on the ball. The second I think could have gone either way, Hamill gave the ref the chance to give it by putting his hand on Walker's shoulder but he fell to the ground like he'd been shot.

Davies went to head butt Macken too which was a red.

You played brillianty? You deserved to win, but only because we were dire (again). I thought the first penalty was right, but the second was a shocking decision. I personally would have booked Walker for diving.

Davies should have been sent off, yes. But so should your player who stamped on Walker's back, forgot who it was though.

Ah well, I'm starting to wonder whether this is just a bad run, or if this is all the season has to offer. I get more worried about that, every time we "play".

I'm amused by the blind hatred he has for Gerrard. Every tackle made on him results in a dive apparently and they're all so blatant that he's the only one that mentions them 99% of the time :o

When will Liverpool fans understand, it's not blind hatred. The fact is he is a ****** hypocrite. He went blabbing to the press about his supposed dislike of divers, Ronaldo in particular. Yet he see's fit to fall on his backside and have a quick look at the ref to see what he has been awarded.

Or are you saying categorically that Gerrard has never dived, took a fall, conned the ref or gained an advantage by going to ground. A pretty simple question that I am sure you can answer

To be fair though, Gerrard simulates and/or dives a lot more than the rest. And he's gained Liverpool a great deal from it.

It's not just that he's a player who the cameras will fix on, it's also compounded by the fact that inbetween all of these incidents he's actually had the nerve to speak out..

Drogba was going for the man and not the ball, as you said he hardly even jumped yet was charging full tilt at someone 5 or 6 ft in the air, that could have been really nasty for Evans if Drogba had collided with him.

I have to admit I did laugh at hearing Cashley is likely to be out injured for a few weeks after his theatrics for THAT freekick

Nobody has said that.

The fact is despite your smug little quips. It was your player who dived Maybe a little dignity in victory, oh wait...........................

I'll well aware of who dived, which team the player was on and the final score. But some of you are talking as if it's the first dive to have ever happened.

I don't think theres a single player out there who hasn't gone down easily or just flat out dived, and there won't be, but if you can't see the difference between the every gamers, and the once in a blue mooners, you're blind.

A lot of players from all of the top clubs have a tendency to dive. Eduardo, Rooney, Gerrard and Drogba and that's without even getting into any sort of analysis.

My issue has been the people spouting rubbish as if anyone on their team hasn't benefited from diving before. "Lucky Liverpool" in particular because they get a decision in their favour tonight...

Do you feel better now? :p

Don't really know how you could possible interpret me having a problem with someone accusing Gerrard of diving in every game to mean Gerrard has never dived, took a fall, conned the ref or gained an advantage by going to ground :o

Not enjoying Ngog being treated the same as Eduardo was? Didn't think so.
