Just bought this card and this is on the back...should I be concerned!?

Does the card sit under a fan? Could something be leaking from the fan or from the top of the PC? It looks oily.

Thanks - no idea as it just arrived, I agree - I guess the question is more 'could this cause an issue?'. I can clean it up, but wanted to check first...I bought it from eBay so could start a return but if it looks like a non issue then clean and use. The rest of the card looks fine...I note the listing didn't include the back of the card.

that does not look good, even the stickers are moist, really moist.
I would 100% return it if you can

Contact Asus support or the retail supplier and let them know.

Yes its probably okay and you'll be fine, but what if something else happens in the future that's unrelated? Asus could accuse you of liquid damage and void the warranty.

Get something in writing from somebody so that this is on record. Then you can refer to it during the next couple of years in case you do need to make a warranty claim.

Was it listed as 'new' ?

flux residue is my guess too - there were a load of x570 mobos shipping with similar issues a while back. If it is flux some flux cleaner will shift it (and you should do so as it ought to be removed).

Maybe thermal pad leaking? I can't remember but my 1070 or 1070ti had a few spots that looked wet/greasey and the internet said some cards get it and its normal.

Had the card about a year or two before upgrading and selling it.

Oil from thermal pads on GPU back plate is normal but if your using liquid cooling I'd check for leaks just incase.

It's this. I assume this was not new? Don't worry, it doesn't cause any harm. You would know by now if it did.

Yes, thanks folks - the seller did find some examples and it's cleaned up and tested fine :)
