Hey guys,

After my what car thread which I was deciding on either a mondeo or passat I ended up getting a Mazda 6 :p

The car is lovely and I am really happy with it. Let's play a little guess how much game as I think I got a bargain. It's a 53 plate Mazda 6 TS2 136bhp diesel. It has 50k on the clock with full Mazda service history and was recently serviced last Nov and only done 1k since. The TS2 is a high spec model with everything electric, bose sound system etc. It also has the optional full leather seats.

So, guess how much.

On a down side there is one expected dent where some inconsiderate nugget has hit their car door against it and a few minor scratches. Also on every Mazda 6 I have seen the alloys have started bubbling.

Does anyone know a good mobile body repair person who would be able to sort out the few bits? Also is it worth getting all 4 alloys refurbished and if so where and how much should I expect to pay? Or should I just get some new ones? I like keeping my cars standard so would prefer the refurbishment option.

Cheers guys!

Nice! are they only going for this amount these days? Or did u just get a fantastic deal?

He got a fantastic deal. Thousands less than trade price - if it's not dodgy, he should be very pleased.

Hey guys,

I think it is 100% legit. I did a HPI on it and all was in order, I spoke to the Mazda dealer who did all the servicing and they confirmed it was all in order and I also have all the original invoices etc. I may have to spend £500 or so to refurb the alloys/sort the scratches but it will still be a bargain.

Hehe, the HPI said the recommended price was £7995 :)

You guys got any comments on the alloys/scratches? I have booked an estimation with chipsaway but are there usually local people that are worth a look?

I am around the Guildford area if anyone can recommend anyone in paticular.

I'm just really confused as to why a dealer would let you have a car for over 2k cheaper than it really was. Dealers know how much their cars are worth...

Dare I say people are going to start wanting some visual proof any minute now (well, in the morning). You might as well upload some pics at the earliest.

from his posts it sounds as though it was private but hes spoken to the dealer and had it hpi checked. So if its private they just didnt know how much it was worth.

Sounds nice bud gets some piccies up :)

plenty of these mazdas on autotrader.co.uk starting from £4500 with 30k on the clock for a 53plate so no need for him to provide any proof.

absolute steal, I hate not getting a bargain when it's in front of you and sells in front of you.

I was > < this close to getting an 02 M5, full spec, 82k, 1 owner, fbmwsh for 14k in what the seller claimed excellent condition :/
Just couldnt get there quick enough :(

You are what, 19? Do you really think anyone believes what you post or was Dad going to buy it for you again?

For diesel TS2's? That would be thousands less than the same cars would fetch at auction.

That would be a blooming good deal IMO. Considering when I was looking at them last month they where nearly 20k for that sort of age.

ABout the alloys, my GFs dad has a 52 plate 6 sport, but the diesel, his alloys were bubbling, and mazda changed all of them free, due to a bad bacth, so see if you can ask them about new alloys. They know about the issue, I think you just have to ask.

Fantastic deal, well played.

If I saw one that price I wouldn't even bother having a look as I'd assume it to be dodgy or a complete dog :o Probably why I'll never pick up a bargain :p
