Im sure like a lot of you out there, I am after a 22" tft this christmas to replace my aging 17" samsung and have spent what seems like ages comparing models to decide that the Asus fits my bill perfectly (Looks good 2 too!).

So i thought i was all decided untill......... The 22" Iiyama PLE2200WS-B !!!!

Looks like a decent monitor an the thing that has me uming an ahing is it may (only!) have a responce time of 5ms but look at the contrast !!!

PPl mite say why dont i look at the Belinia for this contrast but im not sure on the looks and i doesnt have a DVI input. And yes, even if it doesnt look any better, i would still like a DVI. (maybe its just me  )

1000:1 with a DVI input has to look good ! :D

So what do people think, The Asus or the Iiyama ?? Please help me decide!

Thanks
Arge

I understand that the Iiyama is simply a black version of the Belinea? Personally I went for the Samsung 22" as it has all the inputs and full height and swivel adjustment.

IMO I'd rather have the Asus than the Iiyama.

I thought the Iiyama was a black version too but it turns out the Iiyama has a DVI input where the Belinia doesnt. Thats why i was looking at it alongside the Asus.

Im just wondering weather its better to go with...

The looks and 2ms responce of the Asus ?
OR
The price (around £20 cheaper) and the 1000:1 of the Iimaya ?

opinions please !??

I think Badass stated somewhere that you are very unlikely to reach the 1000:1 stated on those monitors.

I mainly game and watch movies, so a bit of both really !

Even if the monitor doesnt reach the 1000:1 cantrast, the belinia (also 1000:1) has people raving about it and as its only analogue input thats got to be down to the high contrast ratio right !??

thats what made me look at the Iiyama, the same as the belinia but with DVI has to be a recipie for a good screen !?

Thing is, i will be ordering as soon after christmas as my balance allows so will proberbly not get the chance to read any reviews, maybe some of the asus, so i am buying sorta blind and just want peoples educated opinion on which screen should be best.

Anyone ?

Hi Arge,

I just got the Belinea and to be quite honest the monitor's excellent. It looks good (better than the pic on OCUK) and is over £60 cheaper than the Asus.

If you decide you don't need DVI the picture via its VGA input is excellent!

Plus, with the saving you could always buy another little toy for your pc!

Here's a review of the Iiyama so you can make your own mind up:

Best of luck!

I'm sure you'll be happy whatever your choice! I know i'm chuffed with mine!
