Hi,

Anyone know what the situation is regarding disabled use for Wembley - my brother has got us tickets for Wednesday's game but they are row AAA (I think that's up in the clouds) and I am suffering with some health issues at the mo (can't walk too far etc) so I was wondering if these seats are going to be doable, if there are any lifts etc?

Cheers,
Marc

Row AAA sounds more like a booking ref. than the actual row as the blocks, rows and seats are in numbers eg Block 528 Row 22 Seat 300.
There are escalators up to all levels though:)

yeah i was well surprised by that! it's stairs on the way down though. i think it goes in numbers, 1xx is the bottom tier, 2xx the middle and 5xx the top tier. i know 5xx is the top tier cos that's where we're sitting! here's the seating plan link
Cool, thanks for that -I'll get my bro to check out the right seating numbers and take it from there :) Escalators will be a right bonus, I can't walk for more than a good few mtrs before I get knackered out!

Aye JG is right

Hope things are well with you Marc, nice to see you about :)
Yeah gotta get out and do things whilst I still can you know, not sure how much longer there is left but 90mins sat in the new Wembley watching Capello's first game sounds like a plan!

Not sounding ignorant, but have you a serious health problem? I know you said you have some issues, what exactly have you got or is your sig a giveaway?

Sorry to go OT here.

No worries, yes it's a little serious - terminal cancer of the brain, looking at a few weeks left it seems, hence why I'm trying to pack in as much as I can right now with my family etc :) Brings it all a little more to the fore and gives you a kick up the bum to actually do things rather than just procrastinate and sit on your laurels..

It's not something I'm trying to keep talking about for the sympathy vote or anything, just something that occasionally has to be mentioned to get the info I am looking for :)

That is shocking, it really is tragic how things like this can bring short a young life. Hope you enjoy the time you have left anyway.

Sorry to hear that.. I hope you get to do what you want to do, although going to watch England play? Come on... plenty of other things out there to do...:p probably more exciting too.

Best wishes.

Happens doesn't it, glad I've had 35 years and lived to see my son born and grow at least a little :)

That's true, an evening I'm never going to get back but hopefully it'll be cool - to be honest I just wanted to see the inside of Wembley and spend the evening with my wife, brothers and mates.. pie and pint(s) optional ;)

well at least you get to see a game without bloody mcclown in charge...

Have you tried contacting Wembley? They might be able to put some previsions in place to assist you to getting to your seats (bring you beer and pies during the game :)).

They may even be able to transfer your seats to somewhere more accessible, if your current ones are not.

Sorry to hear about your news.

Yep, silver linings and all that :p

My brother was to call them today, see if he could transfer two of the seats to a more "less-abled friendly" area.. me and the missus. In a way it's a shame I don't have my disability card yet else I'd take my wheelchair and poss get one of the front row seats..

When we recently went to St Mary's they were really helpful, not that I was bludging some free joy or anything but they really did help us without any prompting, most impressed :)

I'll take some photos anyway whilst there and post them up, I'm just sadly excited at getting to go see the game - the last England game I saw was when I was 4 or 5 (30+ years ago!) and it was the England schoolboys at the old Wembley.. that was cool :)

All the best anyway Marc, you are a top bloke :)

Even though you still havent left me any feedback ;)

I would give them a call and say that you're a wheelchair user, you may find them to be accommodating. I know my father has been to wembley stadium and he's in a wheelchair but only to see concerts so the seating plan might not be the same. He's always on the side at the front.

I'm so sorry to hear your news though, cannot imagine how you must be feeling. I think you're doing the right thing in trying to be positive though and trying to fit as much in as possible. Best wishes. :)

/sickness card

Hmm, remind me what for again and I'll do it asap? The old brain isn't what it used to be;)

@JodieG - thanks, for the advice - I think I will definitely get my brother to call them in the morning (he's the one that bought the tickets etc) and see if there is anything they can do :) Like you say, being positive and use the time accordingly is the way to go - tbh I could just curl up in bed and watch (more) Paramount Comedy till I pop off but what's the use in that? :p I want to give my son and wife some memories of some (hopefully) good times - as long as England don't lose the game!
