I've read a few reviews and they seem to get good reviews

But i've also looked into getting the Hitachi Deskstar T7K250 NCQ 250GB SATA-II 8MB or Samsung SpinPoint P SP2504C 250GB SATA-II 8MB Cache

Now they're all roughly the same price, and the reviews dont really seem to seperate them that much, either that or they contradict each other. So, what better way to find out than from you guys who know first hand im sure

Which is worth me getting? I really want a quiet drive, as every hard drive i've ever owned has been so noisy, first thing any one comments on when they hear my pc is the hdd lol (currently using a Maxtor)

So what is the best overall in your opinion? Im leaning towards the WD one not only cause of the extra cache for no extra cost, but cause a lot of the reviews have said they're virtually silent and insanely quick. This true does anyone know?

Any comment from anyone that has one?

Cheers guys

I've got a Samsung 250 and that's quiet, not as fast as the Hitachi though. Don't know about the WD. I'd probably go for the Hitachi myself.

I'd go for Hitachi as first choice, Seagate 16MB 2nd, and probably that drive third. I built my friend's computer with one of those WD ones though and it is a good drive - my choices are more personal than anything else but back in Sept when I built his computer, the 16MB cache stood out for games.
