hi guys

had 2 640gb caviar blacks in RAID 0, and one day the raid failed. After looking into it, one of the drives (when out of RAID) in bios shows up with the HDD name as it should, and where the other one is, it shows up totally blank (and not "no drive connected or what-ever it says when no HDD is present).

I've emailed western digital about an RMA and had no response so far :(

Can OCUK help? (this is where the drive is from)

also, really desperate to get my RAID back (running on a single drive at the moment) so i can put on my copy of windows 7 (and get rid of the beta) and so i can finally install COD MW2!

Have thought about buying another 640gb Caviar Black so when mines gets replaced i will have 3 in raid 5 i think it is.
How-ever, i'm assuming that if i bought another 1 (and put in RAID) i'd have to rebuild the computer again when i get the RMA back (i.e, when i have 3 drives i want to RAID)

any advice

Thanks
Grant

I have and i filled out the "Advanced RMA" form only to get told at the end that they needed more information to contact them.

I ordered the hdd on 26th feb 09

WD take forever to reply to emails, can be weeks - though oddly I once had a reply to an existing conversation in 15 mins. So if you need to contact them then forget it and return them to OCUK as you're within 1 year.

RMA'd a raptor with WD. They got it done but it took way longer than expected, about 6 weeks overall.

Snap there m8ty, my raptor went juggs up took around 5 weeks to get done, did phone up at one point 3 1/2 weeks in and was told its received but in a que to be looked at.

Well i've phoned OCUK and i've been given an RMA number

will pop it in the post today or tomorrow, and knowing OCUK's great service, hope to have a new one by the end of next week :D
