hi im just wondering what graphics card i should buy i was heading towards the saphire 6950 toxic 2gb edition but i need a second opinion :)

From what ive heard that seems to be the best 6950 out there and the 2GB of VRAM can never be a bad thing

As all ready posted the Saphire 6950 Toxic appears to be highly recommended.

I'm seriously considering upgrading from my current HIS Radeon HD 5850 iCooler V Turbo 1024MB to one of these at the end of the month.

Might be a strange question, but will I notice a huge difference?

Regards

Well, the straight forward answer would be "no", not 'huge' gains. However, you should notice better minimum and average frames per second so it should feel even smoother, though I expect your current card delivers smooth frame rates anyway. Heres a rough guide in performance difference, just be aware that drivers will have changed a lot since then. Personally I'd hang on for the 7000 series, unless you really don't want to wait and your 5850 isn't performing as well as expected.

I highly advice you get the toxic 6950 its a beat of a card, people keep saying that you MIGHT not be able to unlock it to the 6970 but i dont think there has been a single case of the toxic not unlocking to 6970. Mine did no problems.

All in all great value card.

Thanks for the information.

Don't get me wrong, my current card is performing fine, at least I've got no complaints about it.

Anyone know when the 7000 series is due to be released?
