So I came to do a couple of builds last night and encountered a hiccup or two which hadn't even crossed my mind.
Got an Antec Trueblue 480W power supply from about 3 years ago which is 20-pin and hence wouldn't fit the new 24-pin Gigabyte DS3 mobo. Ordered a new case with a 24-pin power supply which wouldn't fit the old 20-pin motherboard I put in it.
Thought about swapping them round but the new power supply doesn't have a PCI-Express power connection.
So anyway, I need a recommendation. How many watts should I go for on the Gigabyte DS3 with two optical drives, a PCI-Express X850XT and three SATA hard disks? Would an Enermax Liberty 400W be enough or do I need to go to 500W?
Cheers!
