Currently thinking of moving out and renting a place with my mate. 6month contract affordable but damn moving out is scary. Im 23 btw and thinking I need to do this just to say i've moved out really lol.

A new 2bedroom apartment type thing £225 each. Pretty lush pad.

moving out at the weekend to a student dump with 3 other mates. 19, costs me 160 a month, not too shabby.

Independance is a good thing really... It's all up to you and how you feel.

Im 17 and so Im still at home :p

18, was kicked out on my birthday, wasn't even told either, found out be finding it written on a calendar, best thing that ever happened to me.

Either save up for a house deposit or move out know. It's great living away from your parents. Choose location very carefully. Sometimes it's better spending more on a worse house/flat. to be closer to pubs/work/friends.

I'm paying £80 more a month in rent know than I did 2 years ago. But I can walk home from town, rather than a £22 taxi ride on my own.

18 if you count uni.. 21 if you count the job I started this month. It's always worth doing. Am surprised at how many people at work are still living at home.

Wish I could get somewhere to live that cheap though :(. Guildford is pricey.

I don't know whereabouts you live, but £225pcm seems damn cheap to me.
If you can afford it then definitely go for it, you won't look back once you've got your own place.

Just wish I could get somewhere that cheap here!
I moved out properly (not counting uni, where I was still dependent on my parents) at 22.
Moved down to Surrey, where I didn't know anyone, from Manchester. It was very scary at the time, but it's worked out quite well now. :)

21 for me. Although when I was 28 and after a disastrous year, in which I lost my job, flat and fiancée within the space of a month, I had to ask my parents if I could rent my old room back from them.

18, moved to uni halls in the uk.
19 moved to halls in prague,
20 moved into a my first flat in prague.
26 bought my first place

moved out at 18 not to go to uni though (probably going to be moving back home though in a few months time if my job hunt continues the way its going at the moment i.e terribly :P)

I moved out when I was 21, moved into a flat with Cliff. Lived together a year or so and got engaged, then I got pregnant and we married when I was 22 and had Caitlin 4 weeks later (4 weeks early too). :)

that i can understand but i know plenty of people around my age (i'm 31) who haven't even left home yet. and one guy i used to know is 47 and has never left home. he's very secretive about his money but one i managed to get some details on what he paid housekeeping - £10 a week. his mum is in her 70s and still made him sandwiches every day for work. how can you live with yourself doing that? (i should add this is definitely not a friend, just someone i knew through work. :) )
