What age does insurance take a jump at?

Just wondering at what sort of age that insurance dives at, and to what extent does having your license at 17 vs 20 count (no driving just having passed at 17).

Thanks.

Mine took a fair dip at 21 but 25 is the bigger one.

In reality it depends on the rest of your risk - car, location etc etc

Sadly never, they say 21, then they promise 25 but in reality i dont remember any significant changes ever in the cost of insurance as any savings are offset by the rising cost year on year etc.

Biggest jump I had was 18 after a year of driving. Went from £2100 to £800 on the same car.

Problem is that most of these drops people describe coincide with other more important milestones. Such as the first years no claims bonus, or more than a year since passing, etc.

Biggest jump I had - and will ever had - was with one year's NCB. Went from £1800 to £550, same car, same policy. 17 to 18 at that time, as well...

Yeah thats what I meant, I havent seen any significant age related reduction since my first years driving. Infact doing quotes now for when my renewal is due early next year, going from 4 to 5 years no claims appears to be making bugger all difference :(

I know it wasnt aimed at me but mine didnt coincide with anything, at 20 i had 3 years ncb, 3 years licence, at 21 I had 3 years ncb 3 years licence it was literally my age that made all that difference

As above, first years no claims.

Still gradually going down, but turning 21 didn't help majorily (think that year was about -£50)

I don't think there is a point that it drops much these days. I'm 35 and still paying £700 to insure my car, ive never noticed a large drop in insurance premium at any point.
