I just got some new Linksys wireless cards for my parents home network after having a load of problems with some Belkin cards. However I still can't get things working!

My Mum's computer with the Belkin card would refuse to see the wireless network coming from a Speedtouch580 router, were as my Dad's one would at least see it and connect (though with trouble). Installing the new cards and again my Mum's computer can't see anything. Argh!

What is going on? I've moved the computer from it's normal place to see if there was something upsetting it there, I've change PCI slots, everything I can think of. My little MDAIII phone can connect fine to the router and I can see the signal strength is good no matter where I put the PC. What am I doing wrong here?!?

The only thing I can think remaining is a problem with wireless cards with the other components of the my Mum's computer. It's specs are as follows:

AMD 1800+ XP
ASUS A7V8X-MX
512MB Ram
Nvidia 5200FX

I have found any know problems with this setup and my Linksys / Belkin cards with a search through google. Does anyone here know of any problems? Please help before I loose my grip on sanity completely...

are you using windows or linksys's own wireless utility to connect to the network (or attempt would be more appropriate by the sounds of things)

Which router do you have? Check that the Linksys cards aren't fixed to use speedbooster (or whatever Linksys call it) if the router doesn't support it.
