What AOE remastered to get ?

Hi everyone just ordered new laptop but looking on steam sale currently, what would you say is the best age of empires definitive edition to buy ?

Can't go wrong with the 2nd! Though I personally enjoy Age of Mythology the most (but without China expac).

If you have Xbox Game Pass on PC try them on there first for nothing (apart from your monthly sub that is!).

AOE2 is a clear winner, but even so, I have bought AOE1 in this sale. Yea I know the pathing is poor (from what I have read, not experienced) but I do like the setting and it has lots of memories for me. With the few quid in my opinion.

AOE2 gameplay is very refined and we'll balanced and no two games are alike which is why the game has managed to stay relevant all these years while other RTS games have become footnote in gaming history.
