What are the best motherboard brand for a conroe setup?

I'm building a computer using a Conroe CPU, which motherboards should I be looking at in the 50-80 pounds price range?

£80 wont get you a decent one imho. Read the posts on the various boards, or hold on till the newer motherboards hit the streets.

All I need is a reliable one with a decent amount of ports.

I'm not going to be overclocking etc.

Gigabyte or Bust

I'd have a good look at the Gigabyte boards as once you get the RAM sorted they really do offer lots of potential for both OC-ing and ports that number a lot. I don't quite know what I'm going to use all my ports for. (probably think of something when I've paid the Cred Card bill.

I think the best bang for buck is the Gigabyte DS3 but only for the allendales
