What are those cheap 15"-16" LCD TV's like

My mum's 14" CRT in her wardrobe has packed up and she would like a small 15" LCD TV with a built in DVD players. I've seen a few of them on the high street such as the Teknic and Luxor for about £140, are they any good or should I go for better quality TV?

you only get what you pay for mate in other words spend abit more and get bigger and better....

I got a 19" Sharp for about £180 — OK no built in DVD player but it's not just a PC panel with a tuner in, it has good colours and viewing angles etc and is nice and bright. You get what you pay for, cheap LCDs are terrible to look at.

From the ones I've seen the biggest issue is volume or complete lack of it, and also sound tinny,

I'd say it'd be fine for a kitchen say, with minimal use, but would want something meatier if it's going to be used a lot.

Of all the cheap LCD TV's with intergrated DVD players that I've tested I've found that the most common thing to go wrong with them is the DVD player.
