What book are you reading...

Anna Karenina.............again.

Probably the best book ever written. Much more accessible and human than war and peace. Such a brilliant brilliant book.

On my list, how are you finding it? :)

Loving Paper Towns so far. I've had to keep myself from physically laughing out loud whilst at the uni library a couple of times :o:D I generally can't stand mystery novels as they get really boring, really fast for me, but this has a nice balance of mystery/suspense/plot/comedy. My only tiny issue with this book is that it's so similar to Looking For Alaska if you've read that. Can't really complain though as I love John Green's style of writing :p

The Devil Next Door by Tim Curran

Breezed through Wrath James White's novella Population Zero in a couple of sittings and have been considering my mental health seeing as I was barely perturbed by the content, which so many appear to find amongst the pinnacles of shock literature.

White is a pansy. Try "The Pig" by Ed Lee.

Now reading John Dies at the End by Jason Pargi, interesting introduction so far!

I enjoyed reading the first three books in the Autumn series by David Moody, they were an interesting take on the "Zombie" genre, and a good read if you like post apocalyptic survival. There are a few mistakes throughout the books, the most notable one being that their escape estate car in one chapter becomes a van in the next one, during the early chapters of the first book.

But these mistakes can be forgiven as the story telling is done quite well, and the writing style improves greatly over the course of the three books I have read. I found the detail the author goes into on the putrification process of the undead to be quite unsettling, and very gross, but this added to the story quite well. I have however decided to take a break and read something else as by the end of the third novel it starts to get a little depressing, I shall read the fourth and fifth book when it is released at the end of the year.

Taking a break from the mass Sci-Fi reading over the last year and started on Declare by Tim Powers, decent so far, spy/cold war/number station etc etc. Really enjoying it so far :)

Onto the third book now Autumn: Purification by David Moody.

Jcb33.

Nearly picked up Autumn today. Is it along the same lines as Hater and Dog Blood? Not read Them or Us yet but if the Autumn series is as good I'd quite like to read it.

In the last few weeks I've read the Chronicle of Pern novels by Anne McCaffrey up to Dragondrums. Good books, find it quite cool how that some of the books are on the same timeline but from a different person's perspective.

Also, King of Plagues by Jonathan Mayberry.Excellent, couldn't put it down. I really like this guys style of writing. The 2nd book in the series kinda let me down but this one redeemed itself.

Deathnote Vol. 1. First ever graphic novel/manga I've read. Found it really easy going and not as confusing as I thought it would be.

Keith Lemon The Rules - kinda funny but only read it because it was there.

Reading Wicca: Guide to the Solitary Practitioner at the moment.

I've still to read Laurel K. Hamilton Guilty Pleasures, The Magician Companion, Assassin's Creed Revelations, Vampire Diaries: Phantom, Lovely Bones and the Lost Symbol. And today, I bought Deathnote Vol. 2, Deathnote How to read, Guide to His Dark Materials Trilogy and Wise Man's Fear (Patrick Rothfuss). Should keep me going for a few weeks at least :)
