What book are you reading...

Just finished the 3rd book in a series of 4 on Caesar by Conn Iggulden, easy to read decent set of books up to now.
Taking a break from all things Rome, now reading Sophie's choice by Jostein Gaarder, quite good so far.

i finished the series last week,(post #415) i bought all 4 hardback books at a bootsale for £2. what a bargain :D
I really enjoyed them, easy to read and fairly factual

You may be pleased to hear he is currently working on a 5th book covering the events after the assassination of Caesar, the rise to power of Octavian (Augustus) etc.

I'd also recommend his series on Genghis Khan + his descendents, five books all of which I enjoyed greatly.

I'm currently half way through the second young Bond book Bloodfever. Very good read so far, as was the first one.

Just finished The Fault In Our Stars by John Green.

I finished that last month. Very good i thought, but i haven't read any of his others. I've heard people say it was similar to... actually i forget which book, maybe Looking for Alaska? What did you think?

I definitely want to read the rest though, he's the one author that i've actually made time to read lately. I mean i've read other stuff, some of it really good. But i just haven't looked forward to picking it up again as much as i did with that.

I think i read those a few years ago. At least up to Bloodfever. As i remember it was rather 'meh', just another stab into the already saturated 'spy' market. Although that might have been because i read it at about the same time as i read the Alex Rider series (up to Ark Angel).

It's actually not too bad at all. Got them recommended to me and I'm a massive Bond fan so thought I'd give them a go. Nothing compared to the original Fleming books but still fairly good, easy read. Never read the Alex Rider series, any good?

Yeah i knew about the Genghis Khan books, but i am tight, if i see them in a bootsale or charity shop, i will buy them,
Didn't know about the new Rome book, thanks

Hitchiker's Guide to The Galaxy - A Trilogy In Five Parts

Haven't read them in about 10 years, still as funny as ever. I enjoyed 'So Long And Thanks For All The Fish' more than I was expecting, it wasn't as bad as I'd remebered.

Just finished 'A Feast for Crows'.

I almost gave up half way through as it seemed to be going nowhere slowly. I'm glad I didn't as it picked up pace in the second half. Nowhere near as good as it predecessors.

Next up, I think I'll give 'Catching Fire' a go since I enjoyed 'The Hunger Games'. Something short and easy before I hit 'A Dance with Dragons'.
