I have picked up an old server from work, all it was doing was backups and shared storage for office files. Anyway here are the specs:

HP Proliant ML115 G5 Quad core amd opteron 1354 2.20
Win Server 2008 foundation
4 GB ddr2

Looking outside I can see our recycling been blown across the garden. It would ideally specked to hold down the cardboard.

I'd install Centos and use KVM for visualization. Spin up as many "systems" as you need.
