What can Newcastle United do in the coming season?

if we get 2 decent strikers we can as i always hope for, contest for top 4, i wholey believe that if we had roeder from the start of the season we would have been this years Spurs.

its just getting 2 decent strikers, kuyt seems destined to go to the premiership, and seems positive for a magpies move, from what ive seen of him he seems a solid bet, as for the other striker, realistically no ideas spring to mind, defoe or bent would be great for me though

Woah, I don't think it's as bad as some people are saying. Avoiding relegation? Don't be silly.

We've had a nice selection of goalscorer's for a while now. Solano scores a few, Ameobi scored 1 less than Shearer, Zoggy nets a good few and if Dyer stays fit he should net a few. I don't think we rely on strikers to the extent that other clubs do tbh.

We beat Chelsea without Shearer and Owen did we not? It wasn't their best team obviously but then, it wasn't ours either.

The club has a lot of money and if we do sign a couple of players we are Champions League material without a doubt. Look at Roeders record without Owen, it was fantastic. And that isn't mostly to do with Shearer either. Plus we'll have less injuries than then.

Im not exactly excited about the Hasselbaink link but he is a proven goal scorer.
He ran almost 3/4 of the pitch last season to score against us!

The whole thing has me depressed , reminds me of 1995 when Shearer banjoed himself at Goodison.

I think Roeder will have to pull up trees (where the hell does that saying come from  ) to see out the full season.

Really hope Jimmy signs a new contract with us. He may be 34 but his form in the second half of the season for us was superb.

His first touch is garbage thou so you need a good hold-up striker to play alongside him.
