Ive tried Megs Gold Class and the results are very good, but is there anything else worth trying?

Gonna do the whole hog thise time, wanna get the car clay bar'd etc.

Not too bothered about price, paid £25 for the megs so looking around that price range.

I use Poorboys SUper Slick and Suds, only £12 for a large bottle and i found it rinsed off better than Meguairs Gold Class shampoo

i use zymol autowash which smells nice and is not too harsh as to remove the coats of wax i have on

I used bubble bath once as I was all out, actually worked really well, and left my car with a nice smell of strawberries :D

Another vote here. Smells yummy and provides plenty of lubrication. Foams nicely through my Karcher foam gun too.

Just finished my second bottle since the summer. I'll be buying the 128oz bottle next.

My only advice is don't bother trying Megs NXT, nowt special imo. Got some gold class sat in the garage too (damn 3 for 2's) but I'm not holding out much hope of it being any good.

TBH if I can find some for a decent price I'll go back to using my Flash car wash shampoo. I thought the stuff about the shampoo having special polymers that make the water sheet off was bull... turns out I was wrong as the autodry does nowt when I use it with the Megs :o

IMO if you want to spend proper money on products spend it on your polish, wax and stuff. Car wash is car wash as long as you stick with known brands (Simoniz, turtle wax, triple wax etc. etc.)

I disagree. A car shampoo needs to not strip off the wax that you spent hours putting on (many of the cheaper shampoos seem to do that), and secondly it needs to be an excellent lubricant, most cheaper ones seem more concerned with giving soap suds to make them look like they are good. I find with decent shampoos such as Meguiars gold class let the wash mitt glide across the paintwork, where as it's hard work with washes such as the cheap turtlewax.

Fair enough.

Personally I don't really see/feel the difference.

I asked the guy I got my Wax from who has won awards and stuff for his shiny classic motor and he basically said pick any shampoo you like, just make sure you dilute it loads. Having too high shampoo concentration is what causes your wax to be stripped.

I just try and avoid Wash and Wax's as I use Harly wax and finish off each wash with wax it wet. Having said that I don't notice a difference its just seems like a wax overload :p
