What CC for your first bike?

Arr, but the CBR1000RR SP is better built than both ;) But yeah the 650F has got to be top of the list. It's just maybe not as ideal a first bike.

It's perfect as a first bike ;) 86bhp which is right in the sweet spot - 100ish bhp might a little too much, and 50-60bhp is fine but after a year you'll be used to the power and wanting more... :rolleyes:;):o

Well it's not so much how much power you have, but how the bike delivers it that can catch people out.
It's just if a "supersport" riding position is a good fit for a new rider and the power delivery is subtle enough to make up for some ham fisted mistakes. I haven't rode a 650F but it looks like a very decent machine for a first bike.

In line fours are the easiest engines for beginners.

SV gang disagrees with this statement, look how many beginners on here went for V-Twin (SV650) as their first REAL bike. :D :p

I'll be using the CB650F in 2 weeks time, possibly I might be able to get some footage of the ride. We shall see how IL4 behaves compared to my V-Twin. :p

I did start back in 1980 mind so 50cc was where it was at. :p

Eh? The SV is a brilliant all round bike for the price. It's why I got one as one of my first bikes.

What has that got to do with being easy to ride? An IL4 of the same power as the SV will be way easier to ride both in terms of engine braking and accidentally grabbing a fist full of throttle being more forgiving.

I was sarcastic, considering how many people who are starting out went for the SV. One of my mates is looking for an SV as his first bike big too. :p

ninja's taste better

Suzuki's fall apart and everything seizes up on them:p

im happy with Kawasaki,i know they don't break

I only like the Ninja's from Kawasaki brand, other bikes are meh... the new ZX10-R is a beast. :D The Z series is interesting, but those bikes are too heavy... e.g. z800 over 230kg's. :eek:

If I could ride any bike and still within reasonable budget. I would still own my SV as a work horse, as 2nd weekend toy I would get either... Suzuki GSX-R 750 K8, Daytona 675R (2012), CBR1000RR Firebalde (2009-2011)

S1000RR isn't within the resonable, is it? :p

If I had to only choose one bike for all sorts of riding, it would be another naked or something like a MT09 Tracer.

BTW Raptor 250R --> Romet 200 --> Duke 125 --> SV650 :p (I had 2 mopeds whilst having a quad, but they aren't bike related. :p)
