what do the codes on belts mean?

Hi all. My car chucked its alternator belt. It runs one shorter than stock due to engine conversion. I have a code off off an old belt but don't know if its the right one or a stock one. Can you derive length from the codes?
It is 4PK668 48338

Any help greatly appreciated, am stuck here and need to get home on Thursday.

4pk is the number of ribs on the belt, 668 is the length in mm.
The majority of belt manufacturers use similar codes.

yup, ill confirm thats right.

ie on my S4 it wanted 6pk**** but no where had that length, so i just bought a belt 1mm shorter
