As title really?? Do you try and flog it to friends / ebay / some forum or use tradein sites like CEX ? Or do you just bin the stuff?

I generally try to sell it on, normally through MM on here.

I've got a couple of boxes full of pieces of computer which suggest I don't try hard enough.

I give it to my sister.

She currently has a Q9550, 9800GTX and an IPS monitor. It works pretty well with her heavy workload of Sims 3 and Word.

I give it away if it will be of use to a friend or if they can be bothered to ebay it, or put in my drawer if i might find a use for it again, or it goes in the garage to be chucked. Stuff like old RAM sticks i keep for a while as you never know when you might need a spare and I keep an old psu spare in case my main one goes. Sometimes i'll put something on ebay if it's gonna sell for >£40, but i've stopped using that site to sell recently as it just isn't worth the hassle with what you have to put up with.

I stuff it in a cupboard and try to forget how much I wasted buying it.

^^ Same here for most items.

Then when it's really old I seem able to justify throwing it away.

Not ideal - I must make more effort to sell, give away etc.. The only problem with giving things away is that there seems to be some implied long term technical support thereafter

Flog it all as I have realised that some people just love paying over the odds on certain bidding sites.

I do keep a spare PC for internet and the basics, in case mine blows up. It cost me nearly £2000.00 in 2004 and all it is good for now is the internet.

mines currently sat on my desk after I broke my motherboard trying to BIOS update, the case and mobo got a size 11 stomped thru it but pulled the HDD ram and gfx first lol, and also have a massive storage crate under the desk full of cables, network switches etc

Keep some of is as spares, to have a reasonably up to date second PC but the rest goes on MM or the bay.

Leave it in a dark corner and tell yourself that one day, god willing, youll have time to install Linux Mint to have a mess around.

Least thats what my P4 machine is doing right now...
