I walked around the Tate Modern once and just thought WTF
Also slightly bemused by the art geeks - pseudo-intellectual types - dressed almost like computer geeks albeit with a much cooler result.
The thing is I'm skeptical as to whether there is anything to 'know' about the subject in the first place - 'the emperor has no clothes' - all the pseudo-intellectual types are staring intently, pretending to 'get it' and find deep meaning in something that doesn't have any in the first place because its just a cow cut in half or someone has curled one out in a fish tank etc...

Seeing as this is OcUk, I expected that this would be in everyone's post. Surprised it's taken 30 odd posts to get there.

).I feel for geography students. Everyone assumes that geographers must somehow know where every city is in the world, when that's not really what geography is about in the same way that biology is not about knowing the name of every bloody animal
Last christmas we were playing the aformentioned trivial pursuit and we landed on the green cheese.

".......?! .... uhhhh, a roo?"
"NO! NO that's NOT IT"
At that point my 3 year old cousin looks up from his toy and says 'Joey'.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH he's out smarted you, you know NOTHING! You have a degree and you know less than a THREE YEAR OLD!".
And I'm just sat there scowling going "... I've tinkered with genes and created my own version of a life form... **************!!!"

General knowledge.
I haven't got a clue about the soaps, or even who the line up of the bands I listen to are. It annnoys the hell out of one my mates.
I listen to music and films, because I enjoy it, I couldn't give two hoots about who is in them or where they are from. This combined with my ability to forget anything I'm not interested in and even most of the things I am interested.
