What do you make for your lunch at work?

I used to make sandwiches at home but I got sick of them, so now I either have something like soup or noodles in work, or pasta from my dinner the night before, or buy something from the baguette van that comes round. Their baquettes are not bad for £1.70 a pop.

Each week's grocery shop sees me and my gf plan out the meals for the week, allowing for dinners which can have leftovers for the next day's lunch.

So the 3 bean & bacon casserole I made last night is also lunch for today, and the roasted veg & goats cheese pasta I am making tomorrow night will be Friday's lunch.

Left over food from the night before is a winner in work, I must do it more often :)

I remember shamelessly eating a curry @ 9:30am once in work :D I dont know why but I skipped breakfast and was hungry. The MD came over to me and the first thing he said was "I guess your single then?"

To this day I still dont know what he meant by it

Work 07:00 - 19:00 with 3 breaks so normally try to have: -

First break 09:45 porridge or muesli with yoghurt, or a bacon & egg sarnie.

Second 12:45 currently having an innocent veg pot

Third break 15:45 fruit or either a packet of crisps or choc bar from the vending machine.

Some days I'll eat next to nothing others like a horse!! Eat more, and often more crap in the winter due to the cold.

I normally have either some Heinz Soup (the pots, not the tins) or some noodles with a packet of crisps and a variety of chocolate bars.

When i worked in London, i used to go to the pub everyday and have a beer with steak and chips :D

Most of the time its leftovers from the previous nights meal or maybe a few days ago as I freeze anything that's left.

Otherwise its co-op for me, can of soup (heinz big eat), egg sarnie, pint of milk, chocolate bar and a packet of crisps for £3.64 :D

Looks disgusting, tastes delicious!

Thought id rez the thread :P

I'm looking for long term ideas to save some money! Atm i spend about £100 a month on just food at work (supermarket) This is in the staff canteen and the past weeks the food has been utter pants!

My hours are Tues - 1pm - 8pm / Wed 1pm - 9pm / Thurs 1pm- 9pm / Fri - 10-7pm / Sat 10-7pm

I tend to go in early (30min before i start) and just get breakfast or lunch

Tues/Wed/Thurs
I eat a lot before i start as this is the only meal i eat (whatever is on the canteen menu)

Fri/Sat
I tend to have breakfast (9.30) then 1hr break at (1.30pm) and again have whats on the menu.

Want to try and make it healthy as possible too!

Going to cook up some pasta and do bog standard tomato and basil dressing for a start and see how that goes.
