Save yourself £120 odd and go back to the Palit 670.. Look at this review and the performance difference between the 670 and 680 is literally nothing.. You could OC the 670 to be better than the 680.. ;)

Other than that, yeah go for it.. Have fun with the build. :)

thanks, and i have been listening to what you guys have said
i was just trying stuff from somewhere else i came across

thanks for the help

Pointless getting two 120HZ monitors, May aswell save a good £100/£150 with the Samsung monitors, even if they aren't 3D I hardly think you'll ever use 3D?. The bigfoot killer is a load of rubbish don't buy into that.

And sparx is right, the 680 is only marginally better than the 670 but the 670 OC performs on par if not slightly better than the 680.

have ordered it today

should be here by Thursday
took out the bigfoot but kept the monitors and the 670 card

will post pics onc its built

thanks for the help

Why do u say its point less getting 2x 120hz ?

Should have gone with the retail BD, as it comes with playback software. The OEM, you will need to purchace separate software to play blu ray discs.

Because 120HZ is really only needed for 3D, You wont see much difference between a 60HZ and 120HZ monitor, And I doubt he is interested in the flop that is 3D.

And price, You can get two 24" Samsung's for the price of one of those, It's really a no brainer, It allows him to spend money elsewhere on better PC components.

Or the OP could even go with three Samsung monitors, Which is what I would do. But its all down to personal preference.

No difference?
I dont mean to be rude but did you ever played and used a 120hz monitor?
When i went to my friend which i didnt see in a while, i played on hes rig with 3x benq 120hz and then came back home to my 60hz samsung.
The difference was noticable, so dont say that 120hz is no worth the price.

Yes, I have had the Samsung monitor listed for an old build which was a fantastic monitor, And an older build going with the Orange theme went with an acer 24" 3D 120HZ monitor.

In reality, the Eye can only perceive a certain amount of frames, So the image may appear smoother but in reality it is barely noticeable.

Do a quick Google, You might find some interesting results.

Also when he can pick two monitors for the same price as one, it seems more beneficial to have Dual monitors rather than single, I can't stand single monitor set-ups now that I have experienced quad and triple display's.

Its really the OP's choice, I personally think 3D is poor for the price and is in its early stages. But thats only my opinion. I wouldn't waste £300 on just one monitor. But its not my decision, just advising the OP he'd be better off stretching the budget an extra £100 for three of these bad boy's

rather than just one. especially seeing as he is getting a 670, A single monitor set-up on a 670 seems a touch wasteful :)

Food for thought.

Not much point in 2 monitors for gaming, you'll end up with the bezel in the middle. Either go the whole hog with 3 or stick with 1.

Other notes, get at least a 128Gb SSD as anything less is pretty pointless and go for the GTX670 as it's not far off the 680 but £100 cheaper.

Either way, he'll be a happy chappy with the rig above.. We can't make him pick every single part we'd like in an ideal world.. In some respects he wanted some of the bits for the aesthetics which is good for him - if it makes him happy, then so be it.. :p It is a good build still and will run very, very nicely..
