The system will be used for movies including HD and also music, photos etc on a HDTV

Looks good, it will play everything you throw at it with that CPU and most stuff will be offloaded with DXVA anyway. Have a look at silentpcreview for some cooler and fan recommendations.
You just need to get yourself a decent soundcard as onboards tends to have interference and with the HD audio codecs you need analog output, and also a BD drive.

Regarding getting a soundcard, I thought this motherboard played sound via its HDMI connection? Can I not just connect this up to my AV amps HDMI and all sound will go via that or have I got the wrong end of the stick?

Just thought of another thing too, if I connect the HDMI cable to my AV HDMI will i be able to play all audio via this?

I.E Will it play mp3's and avi's etc or just HD material?

Sorry for the questions but I'm a noob!
