Mostly for wasting time and talking to people. I have one laptop, and an ageing PC down in a storage locker in Cambridge. I forget the spec of the laptop, I think it has 4gb RAM and a 2ghz core 2 duo, but I could be wrong. I also no longer have even a passing interest in computers as anything other than a tool for getting stuff done..

Spec: erm, win 7, 4gb ram, amd 64 3.1ghz of some kind, 8800GT I think, 3x 500gb harddrives and a dvd writer - perfect for my needs.

Laptop same thing but with mobility.

i use 2 monitors to play wow and browse net at same time, its on 24/7 because i usualy download overnight due to my poor internet speed in the day.

Main PC is an AMD Phenom II 955BE, 4gb DDR3 RAM, ATi 5770 graphics card and around 1TB storage. Laptop is a Pentium T4200 (Penryn) with 4gb RAM and a ATi Mobility HD4570 - enough for a good bit of Oblivion and the occasional computational work.

Core2Duo Conroe@3GHz, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD primary (200GB secondary, various other backup), rather terrible 2600XT gfx

Windows 7 for games and some work, Linux for work (generally Ubuntu or Fedora).

.. and special mention to excellent Logitech Z4 speaker set, which has served me loyally since the start of my undergraduate and all the way through postgraduate and beyond :-)

I mainly use my PC for internetzing and stupendous amounts of college work. Also, occasional gaming when I actually have any time for it (on my main PC).

Spec is:

E6850 @ stock (3GHz), 4GB PC6400 RAM, 8800GT, 320GB Samsung Spinpoint and a 160GB Seagate.

My laptop is occasionally used for word processing, but mainly for browsing the internet.

That's an old Dell Latitude D600 1.8GHz Centrino with 1GB RAM and a tiny HDD.
