Obviously, no parking between 8am and 6pm.

But when if the sign shows the following ?
8am - 9.30am
4.30pm - 6pm

Logic tells me that it means no parking between 8 and 9.30 and again at 4.30 'til 6
But this strikes me as odd. Why should it just be naughty to park there for 1.5 hours at the beginning and end of the day ?

So it got me to thinking, does it mean no parking between 9.30 and 4.30 but the other times are fair game ?
This also struck me as odd.... so I thuoght I'd post here :)

Hmmm... fair point.

Its just that I've been ousted from my normal parking position (been parking illegally there for a year and then got a ticket :)
And I've been looking round for new places to park.
Its starting to seem that the entire of Sheffield is covered in yelow lines :(

Nahhhh, I was used to park a little way past the Leadmill which gave me a 15 minute walk to work.

I'm now looking into City Road which should reduce it to about 10 mins :)

Not sure of the roads you mention, but when I went to uni there I had to park on the border of broomhill and crooks. Sometimes I was lucky and got a space at crooksmore, near the sports centre.

Most road are either lined or require a permit but as I have now graduated I do not need to goto Sheffield very offen.

Why dont you use the complete dire, non profit making massive city debting rubbish tram system of yours!?

;)

Doesn't go near my house :p
Heheh

There is a bus straight there from my house ... but what's the point in getting on an expensive bus with the rest of the scummy masses and catching collera or something when you have a nice car ?

City road itself is 8am - 6pm and gets trafic wardens once per week.

The side roads off it are ok, though busy with cars moved from the main road.

What it really needs is one side of city road double yellowed and the other completely clear for cars to park. Still get 2 busses and parked cars width with space to spare.

Isn't it so people don't park there to go to work? I live quite near a train station and on one side of the road it's no parking 10am-11am, on the other side its 2pm-3pm for this reason :)

Yeah, well, I actually meant a side road. :)
The residential areas further up are free parking as far as I can tell, and it'll only add another minute or so walking to my journey.
