What earphones for running?

What earphones do you runners use? I've got my trusty Sony in-ear jobbies but they've been driving me mad because they fallout all the time. Someone recommended Philips SHQ3000/10 which are £15 in Amazon but the reviews say they have no bass at all and I tend to listen to bassy music. Don't really want to waste £15 if I'm not going to be happy with them :(

Something like a clip-on Sennheiser CX200 or CX300 would be ideal and I'd prefer individual ear clips rather than a band round the back of the head.

Any recommendations?

Does the band not bang up and down when you run with them on? I've got some ear defenders shaped like that and the band itself really makes a lot of rumbling noise if it rubs on my collar or knocks my neck. I think that's why I want to avoid them. I also prefer the ones that plug right in the ear because they muffle out the background noise. It means if I'm not running I don't have to sit on the train listening to other people over my music and I don't need it as loud :D

Soundmagic PL30

Best earphones i've ever owned for running. They come with optional ear loops so they hold on tight and your ears dampen most if not all vibration sounds from the cable movement, they're also shaped so the chord goes around your ear snugly so no 'tapping' of the cable on your skin which really bugs me.

The standard earpieces fall out, HOWEVER! They come with these awesome optional 'gel' earpieces that you squish with your fingers before you put them in your ear. They then expand inside your ear and fit really snugly. Really excellent sound isolation when you use these too.

£25-30 though which is more than i'd usually spend, which is the downside. I couldn't recommend them enough though!

I've got a pair of the Sennheiser PMX 80 neck band ones. Albeit they are a bit older, from back when they used to have a bright green cable.

I've also got a pair of what are now rebranded Adidas Sennheiser MX 680.
However these look like a much better design, as on the older version the bits which kind of twist into the top of your ear to fix into place were removable so that you could choose different sizes. Trouble was, the earbits would fall off all the time, so the new design is fixed and much better.

The band design is nice, until I grew my hair a bit longer. It's also not so nice when wearing a jacket when running like in winter.

The ear twist type ones are nice but you have to kind of get used to the feeling of them.

cx 300 are really good, bass can be very very strong without distorting if you set your eq for it and the 3 sizes you get with the rubber pads mean you can get the perfect fit for your ear and they won't fall out.

I prefer my px100s for everything tho - got them a while ago from amazon for £16 and they are very nice all rounders. + you can hear the horn from that bus which is about to run you over, should this be the case. :D

I'd suggest you try a pair of Koss Spark Plugs. Lower microphonics than most other pairs I've tried, comfy earphones you can fit securly and a nice light cable.

I have the Sennheiser CX680, plenty of bass and just about stay in, occasionally need a gentle push back in but I think that's just my paranoia as my left ear is quite closed up and normal headphones fall out stood still! I haven't done a proper run with them yet though, will have to give that a go tonight.

They also do the PMX680 (headband) and OMX680 (over the ear) but they don't have the buds that go in the ear which I prefer (and I think what gives them the lovely bass). My colleague love the headband ones though and he's into DnB & Dubstep, loves them.

I used to use cheapy JVC Gumy headphones, as they were only £5 a set. My other half bought me a set of creative earplug type headphones for xmas and they seem to be pretty good, stay in my ears no problems, unless it's stupidly windy....

Same as Badgi here. Cheap crap ones. Means I don't have to care about getting them sweaty/wet and can hear traffic etc.

I'll second this, the more expensive ones seem to be too good at cancelling sound, can be pretty dangerous.

I don't see the point in spending out loads anyway, if you're like me and will run in any weather, chances are they'll get water damaged eventually.

If you can't find any that stay in on there own I've found wearing an 80's style headband and pulling it down a bit at the back so it covers the ears can stop in ear headphones from falling out. It helps to stop that little bit of movement of the wire which ends up pulling them out.

Cheers for the suggestions, all taken on board :)

I've noticed that wearing a hat holds them in conveniently. Trouble is, I cook alive when I run so I can't wear anything on my head or I overheat. Spotted some non-sports Philips ones like I posted that I might give a go. They don't get the bad reviews about bass. I've also thought I might borrow my girlfriend's CX200's to see if they stay in any better. They use the same buds as my Sonys do, so I can just swap them on. I know my Sonys stick out a bit, so that might be what's causing the problem.
