What film did you watch last night?

House Of A 1000 Corpses

I'd seen Devils Rejects on release at the cinema and thought it was over hyped torture porn nonsense, this is coming from a guy who loves horror btw. Because of that I never gave HOTC a go, such a shame I waited so long. I can't explain why I like this so much, it just worked for me, give it a good 7.5/10

Cloud Atlas 8/10

Thoroughly enjoyed from start to finish. Looks like there was quite a lot left on the cutting room floor but having not read the book yet I dont know how important this is.

Definitely one to re-watch when it comes out on DVD since it seems to be limited release in the UK.

Zero Dark Thirty - 6/10 The action scenes were tense and well portrayed, but the rest of it just felt a bit wishy washy! For some reason I compared it to Argo which held my interest all the way through, but this had me reaching for my phone to fiddle with. Next up, Cloud Atlas, but thinking I should read it first...thoughts?

IMAX: Hubble 3D, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1433813/ on my Panasonic TC-P55GT50 & my Yamaha RX-A2010 Aventage

Simply amazing. Without doubt if you ever need to demonstrate DTS Master HD and 3D, this is the title to do it with.

When that shuttle takes off. You are right there feeling the blast !

I'm not really a huge fan of 3D, but this title does the business. Flying through the galaxies in 3d, blew me away !

Watched Argo the other night. Really enjoyed it. Held my attention from start to finish, good story, acting and direction. Best film I've watched in a while; 7/10

"From Beyond" on youtube. I wasn't too fussed about it and skipped through having got the general idea. Similar film idea to The Fly (scientist does something that makes grotesque changes to a human) but just slightly rubbish.

Silent Hill revelation
Well it was a revelation that Sean Bean has sunk so low. Just awful, with no redeaming features. It made the last resident evil film look watchable......actually no that was just as abysmal.
1/10

Wreck it Ralph
Surprised me as couldn't see how they were going to get a film out of the idea.
Flowed nicely with a few laughs
7/10

The Hobbit
To be honest I was dissappointed. It wasn't an awful film but it just didn't feel right. In particular the fight scenes just had no sense of menace. In The Lord of the Rings there was a sense of unease when Frodo and co took flight, but in the Hoobit the escape from the goblin king just left me cold. Maybe its the CGI or the loony toon physics, but there was deffinately something lacking.

To me it seemed very dummed down so it was more suitable for a younger audience, with the fight scenes lacking any real gore and too many comedy moments. Just didn't seem as dark as LOTR.

went to see jack the giant slayer tonight, unexpected great film. funny, good action scenes, great cgi.
best of all only paid £2 for ticket through work and then got told at end of film sorry we had to down grade to 2d and not showing 3d here is a free ticket to watch any film in the next year!!

Dredd, started off slowly but pick up quickly enough, by the end I was enjoying it.

Excellent action film... I loved it.

Can't believe it was such a box office flop (though it has since topped DVD sales).

You realise that The Hobbit is a children's book, right?

I don't necessarily disagree with what you're saying, but it was NEVER going to be as dark or as complex as LoTR.

Sinister

Pretty good horror film, although some annoyances such as him never turning the lights on when he heard noises throughout the house (I know there was one time where the lights went of but the other times they didn't), seriously if that was me, that would be the first thing that I would do, turn the damn lights on! :D Obviously they did it on purpose but they could have shown him trying to turn the lights on..... ending was bit of a let down too, kind of obvious what was going to happen but overall, a good horror film.

7/10
