What film did you watch last night?

Prisoners
9/10

Great movie. No complaints.
Its a been a long time since I gave a movie 9/10.
In fact I cant actually remember the last time I gave a movie 9/10.
I don't like long movies, which Prisoners is.
I don't like murder/kidnap/mystery movies, which Prisoners is.
But, this one is highly recommended to those who don't like long movies.

I thoroughly enjoyed that film as well!

"Maleficient" (our local mini-cinema runs just a touch behind :)). It was really good and a great piece of story telling to turn Sleeping Beauty on it's head. Lots of subtle tie-ins with the animated Disney film (stroking the bird etc). Three generations went and we all enjoyed it.
Angelina Jolie looks eerily beautiful throughout.
7.5/10

Amazing Spider-Man 2: 7/10
I liked this, which I wasn't expecting. The green goblin fight was a little anticlimactic though. Perhaps we'll see more of him if they continue the series.

Robocop (2014 reboot): 8/10
Thought this was good too. Lots of action and robots.

Crocodile Dundee.

Still one of my favourite movies (signaure gives it away...), he was my hero growing up! Sad to hear that Paul Hogan and Linda Hogan have divorced now.

Zoolander as my missus was adamant we watch some comedy and most stuff from recent years (5 years and less) is awful.

It's aged quite well, the jokes even more relevant now than they were back then and the level of cameo's is crazy. The subtlety of mistakes in Stiller & Owen's dialogue is great.

Can't score it, very much a marmite movie, just say I still loved it.

Try the movie "In a world" and also "coffeetown" . Nice indie comedies that probably get over looked

Quite a few on the plane

Appleseed Alpha

Good graphics, ok story (given I haven't seen any other Appleseed stuff), and Briareos sounds just like Geralt of Rivia :D

6/10

Anchorman 2

I was anticipating a shoddy sequal, as comedies tend to be, but actually found it very funny, with me actually loling a few times. The big cameo fight at the end was great.

7/10

Hunger Games: Catching Fire

Gave it a go after enjoying the first more than I thought I would. And I really liked this. I don't know why it gets so much stick. Apart from kids killing eachother, it doesn't really have anything else in common with Battle Royale. The teeny angst stuff isn't anywhere near Twilight levels, and the general concept and nods towards the modern obsession with reality tv, excess, and societal classes are done to a good (if exuberant) level.

7/10

A classic for me over the weekend, I introduced the next generation to Little Shop of Horrors. We all loved it, my two boys were concerned about all of the singing but soon enough Steve Martin's dentist and Bill Murray's patient had them loving it, then Audrey II got going.

It is a fantastically silly film but has always had a special place, would recommend if you have a hankering for a musical comedy sci-fi horror (or just to remind yourself how fun it is). 5/5
