What film did you watch last night?

The Railway Man - 6/10

Expected a moving film but despite good performances from Firth and Irvine it seemed shallow and lacked emotion. Kidman also seemed very cold and blank even in sensitive situations; it also lead to the question why she thought she needed cosmetic surgery which has spoilt almost every film she's been in since The Others.

When Lou Bloom, a driven man desperate for work, muscles into the world of L.A. crime journalism, he blurs the line between observer and participant to become the star of his own story. Aiding him in his effort is Nina, a TV-news veteran.

Although very far fetched and unrealistic once you put that to one side this is a pretty good popcorn thriller/drama. Not nearly as good as people on imdb will have you believe but still a solid film with Jake GyllenHaal putting in a fantastic performance as usual

7.7/10

Reality more bizarre than fiction

Police became suspicious about Mr Souza's programme when a report showed the body of a suspected drug dealer burning in the woods long before police arrived.

I too watched Lucy last night - 6/10 also. Felt fairly average, some nice visual effects and action scenes but there wasn't much actual story or substance to it.

Me too, the mrs wanted to watch either this or Mrs Browns Boys so I chose this. Most of the effects were good although there were some dodgy greenscreen moments. [5/10]

What really infuriated me were the plot inconsitencies, I can render many people unconcious with the wave of a hand? Let's never use that ability again! All the while allowing the bad guys to murder their way through a university.

And

The

She's on her way to the airport to get her flight, oh wait, no she isn't.
She's dissolving away in an airplane toilet, oh wait, no she isn't.
