What film did you watch last night?

Everest 3D - Fantastically shot, dramatic, depressing film about the perils of Everest. Really emotional and the 3D really felt like it was done well. 8/10

and why is there always one that costs the lives of so many others.

Tomorrowland - 5/10

Another disjointed mess of a film. I (and I suspect most people) never had a clue what was going on, or why. The film skipped from place to place, decade to decade, and even dimension to dimension. Ideas were introduced and then seemingly abandoned, never to be fleshed out or even mentioned again.

The "plot" was akin to continuous improvisation. Just make it up as you go along! Don't worry too much about what you've already shown the audience, they'll forget five minutes later, and you don't have to explain or continue any train of thought more than five minutes old. Just throw in something new! New is great! Those scenes from five minutes ago, they're the past man, move on! You don't need to explain anything to anyone!

This is Damon Lindelof at peak flow.

And it was full-on retarded in at least a couple places. No, Lindelof, Edinson and Tesla did not build an inter-dimensional space rocket underneath the Eiffel Tower.

In short: Damon Lindelof. You have been warned.

The Towering Inferno ... Classic disaster film, given a fantastic transfer to blu ray. Its aged very well indeed, with some great effects, and a stella cast. A little too long, but for a foul Saturday afternoon it was perfect. 9/10

Minions movie - If any of you folks have little ones say age 3-10 years old, buy it & then watch the other 2 Despicable me films afterwards. Then you can thank me for getting your kids hooked on said minions & you are skint due to buying merchandise associated with them. ;)

Zoolander 2

It's a fun movie with plenty of laugh-out-loud moments and far too many cameos to count. The aburdity is ramped up a long way from the original and results in it slipping from satire into farce. Worth a watch but not a lasting watch-again-and-again classic like the first movie.

7.5/10

I watched that a few weeks back, very depressing film. Outstanding visuals though.
