What film did you watch last night?

Everest 3D - Fantastically shot, dramatic, depressing film about the perils of Everest. Really emotional and the 3D really felt like it was done well. 8/10

and why is there always one that costs the lives of so many others.

I watched that a few weeks back, very depressing film. Outstanding visuals though.

It wasn't fantastically shot and it had some of the worst Green screen I have seen.

Plus the film was dire...

Even the people who survived hated the movie.

You keep saying that, but, it's not true. They liked the movie. The only person who had a problem with the movie was Jon Krakauer but only because it betrayed him as a coward because he wouldn't go back up the mountain to help save Rob and the others.

And can you let people have their own opinion about the movie? I mean every time someone says they like it you are straight in to say it is dire and the climbers didn't like it.

Even you have bought into the mistruth

If people are going to spout " Fantastically shot" Pretending they have a clue about movies and cinematography then no...I'll tell them why.

Everest is a bad movie and its very obvious why. Technically its poor never mind the horrendous script!

Spectre – after great start it fizzled out into tedious, predictable rambling with a tired Bond. A disappointment after Skyfall. Time for a long break and then a new Bond. 6/10

The Double - 6.5/10.

Really like Jesse Eisenberg and Mia Wasikowska in this, Mia is always pleasant to look at and Jesse's mannerisms are great.

The cinematography is great but the overall film just doesn't do it for me. Some nice Lynch homages though, and I want to check out 'Submarine' as a result of watching this! :)

The Departed

Watched for the umpteenth time again. Great film

Full Metal Jacket

Also watched for the umpteenth time again. The drill instructor played by R. Lee Ermey is epic.

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny

While it didn't have the depth of the original, it made up for that by being pretty much action oriented, which is to be expected from Yuen Woo Ping.

The story was weak and it tended to just jump a bit, but it looked really pretty and the choreography was top notch if you don't mind floaty wireplay.

All in all, I enjoyed it, even if it was a bit of a missed opportunity in terms of story and depth.

I Saw The Devil
(Uncut)

Pretty damn good.
I have to say I was expecting it to be a torture porn kinda thing and was happy to see that it wasn't.
Some retarded elements towards the end**, but whatever.

Such as they know he's going for the chief and his daughter, yet nobody contacts her and how bloody long does it take to get some officers to the house?
Also, why is the barely alive chief still lying in the house with bandages? Where's the flipping ambulance?

I thoroughly enjoyed Everest. Just thought I'd speak for myself rather than have anyone else speak my opinion for me. I thought it was a great film.

Went and watched Deadpool 8/10

Funny film. Perfect character for Ryan Reynolds. Didn't know we had a Captain America, X-men and the suicide squad films around the corner.

CTHD Sword of destiny

I was a big fan of the original, but this sequel never seemed to really get going.

It was pretty much just set in one home waiting for them to attack. I mean some fighters came to help, then they died. Meh.

I'll give it another watch another day but initially I would say 5/10

Babe... afternoon film with the family, and it still does it for me. 8/10 ... my five year old found it worrying and scary :(

I caught After Earth on TV a few days a go... I had heard bad things, but I love a bit of sci-fi so gave it a go, but WTF was that?!!! It has no redeeming features.. the effects, the sets (everthing in the future will be cloth and soft) the story... the acting  and I like Will Smith too.

0.01/10 and I didn't quite make it to the end.

Edit: opps I forgot. We watched Sicario last night. Its a good film, with some great photography by Roger Deakins, but I did struggle with it somewhat. We started the film late, I'd had a few drinks and was tired, so I feel I may not have been in the right space to watch it... despite its best attempts it lacked tension for me. 6.5/10
