What film did you watch last night?

You don't like mad max fury road.

You preferred the avengers 2 to guardians of the Galaxy.

You preferred the hobbit to Lord of the rings.

At this point it's safe to conclude I should just assume the opposite when it comes to your opinion on films :p

Dear god.

The CGI in hobbit got me ranting something awful.

USE MINIATURES YOU LAZY ********!

And the excessively comical action sequences which looked like the games companies bribed them to put such trash in.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince... This and the Deathly Hallows 1 & 2 and my favorites of the series; its lost a lot of its kiddyness and is quite dark... But talking of dark, the image quality is ruined by a very dank, grey and lifeless grade, which even on an overcast day forced us the draw the curtains. Not sure if it was like this at the cinema, but its horrible on Blu-ray

Anyway for the film 8/10... 4/10 for the PQ.

Fantastic Voyage.

Don't know if they've made anything like the film since, but for a film of 50 year vintage it stands up today as a good watch.

Fantastic in bluray, great to go back, think the 80's on tv.

Innerspace was a sort of remake of it. Also very entertaining viewing.

London has fallen
7/10
Not as good as Olympus

Also watched it tonight and I agree. The good thing about Olympus was the action was more centralised in the Whitehouse. This went all over the place and it didn't flow very well because of it. Also the
insider didn't seem to have much motivation other than becoming rich which I felt a bit of a cop out. Something a b it more personal, say his two brothers being killed in Afghanistan or his Dad being killed in Gulf War 1 or something would have been more realistic. And why is it only a single person confronts the inside man in these things. I'd love to have seen him arrested and hung for treason.

After Hyena last night, which had the Kill list feel to it, I had to watch Kill list again tonight.

Strange film that one but for some reason I really enjoyed it more the second time around. I think it was because it wasn't as "WTF just happened?" and I picked up a few of the nuances it leaves to pick up on

Terminator genysis, absolutely awful. Emelia clarke is the only redeeming feature of this peice of rubbish. It makes salvation look pretty ok.

Agreed, great film.
I like all of David Ayers films.. Harsh Times was a little better than End of Watch though IMO. If you've not seen that. Check it out.. Highly recommend.

Really like Harsh times and all of Ayers stuff, gives me high hopes for Suicide Squad. Don't agree it's better than EOW though, which is in my top 10 movies ever.

Thought Emilia was a cracking Connor, only her height let her down a bit, sounds silly but she got the performance spot on, her stature was the issue.

Looks like harsh times is tonights watch. I loved EOW and find myself watching it every 6 month or so

Maybe they could have asked the GoT crew for some tips, half the time with Peter Dinklage is spent de-emphasising the height difference.

Ray (2004) - 9/10 Loved it, forgot how much I enjoyed Ray Charles music. Foxx's performance was fantastic. A few slightly corny lines slightly detracted but probably my 2nd favourite musical biopic after Almost Famous :D

The Doors (1991) - 6.5/10 Val Kilmer was great and I like some of their music but gruelling to watch. Jim Morrison spiralled very quickly and most of the film is spent watching him act like a complete **** to the people closest to him, you do really just watch him hammered/drugged to heaven and spouting philosophical rubbish for over an hour. Not necessarily a fault of the film but his story didn't make for the most entertaining movie.
