What film did you watch last night?

The Pianist

Second time of watching. Very good film, well acted and directed. One of those films that never gained much attention on release but stands the test of time as a good movie. I often wonder what Polanski could have achieved had he not been wanted for child sex offenses in America. He's forced to work outside of Hollywood which limits his talents ability to realise it's self. He would have been so much more if he hadn't abused that young girl back in the 70s.

Not last night, but just now at work.

Cloverfield

8/10

What a fantastic film. I love it, the atmosphere it creates is fantastic. I wish there were more found footage type monster films like this.

London has Fallen : 6.5/10. As said above its just an action movie with some good one liners. Though hopefully it doesn't give the terrorists an idea...it seemed like a good one :O

Grudge Match

Stallone & De Niro return to the ring for one last time. I like boxing films generally, so enjoyed it, but it's not really a very good film. Some of the dialogue is terrible. I liked Alan Arkin as Stallone's ageing trainer.

4/10

I just watched Hitchcock/Truffaut - 5/10

I really wanted to like it but it was quite dry. Only really grabbed me when Scorcese was talking. Probably didn't help that I haven't seen er, any of his films.

London Has Fallen.

Utter dross.. so bad I am seriously considering tweeting the studio.

Use of stock footage in amoungst regular filmed footage, terrible acting, insanely awful dialogue.. just terrible.

1/10 (The 1 is for the reasonably hot MI5/6 chick.)

I passed on this after thinking the trailer was absolutely embarrassing. My other half went and scored it similarly to you!

Ok..

In one scene after they had been chased they were now in an MI5 or MI6 safe house.. the first line spoken is...

"Well I don't know about you.. but I'm ******* thirsty" followed by Mr Butler downing a pint of water..

If was so bad I actually laughed at most of the scenes that were probably meant to be disturbing... oh and its very "AMERICA!!!!" if you get what I mean.
