What film did you watch last night?

The Girl who Played with Fire.

Felt as if it was very rushed compared with The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

I thought The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo was a solid 8/5/10. I'd probably score this a 6.5

Frozen

I'm going to have to give it a 7/10, I have to say I really enjoyed it as there was plenty of suspense and cringe worthy bits in. It's never going to deserve the title of epic but if you get the chance to watch it I definitely would!

Thought it was pants tbh

Watched The Book of Eli and Robin Hood tonight.

The Book of Eli was fantastic in parts but rather dull in others, great ending though - 8/10

Robin Hood - Not what i was expecting it to be and rather disappointing, still a decent watch though. - 6/10

Machete. Never has a film been so obviously made for drunk men.

Boobs? Check.
Dismemberment and decapitation? Check
Danny Trejo with a 2 handed machete? Check.

An hour and a half of pure awesomeness.

I got this earlier and will watch it over the weekend. Oh and with some alcohol :)

The Untouchables on Film4.

I'm sure it was a classic in its day but you can certainly tell it's old, and call me the "MTV Gen" or what you will but the suspenseful long shots had me begging for the next cut at every turn. Also thought Costner's family relationship could've been stronger.

5/10

confused, what does live action version mean?

Not a cartoon. The original Initial D was anime, this is a "proper" film with proper people and proper cars etc.

Last night, I watched Four Lions. Group of 4 British Muslims who are planning terrorist attacks.

Quite "stupid" humour, but very funny, and I was laughing quite a lot at it.

I also watched Four Lions and enjoyed it a lot. Made you think (a bit). 4/5

hm yes i have watched the anime and have the film on DVD. i thought u meant it was shot live like a 'live' edition of Eastenders.

otherwise its just a film right? or it would have been a feature length anime?

P179:

The Untouchables

gave up after sitting through an hour of it.

seriously this film was poor. it was a lame duck. yes it has an all star ensemble but the screenplay was dire. even after an hours psycological investment i had to walk away.

5/10

Agreed, what an epic film :D The level of violence was extreme, quality over the top ridiculous action movie :) 8/10

I was expecting more from the minigun on the bike though :(

Martyrs, this film is MENTAL , 8/10 and I dont think I enjoyed it if thats sounds plausible

My god. I watched this last night and found it VERY disturbing. Will stick in my mind for a long time. First half is actually very good/creepy - second half VERY disturbing - I was seriously considering turning it off, and I've never HAD to do that before (unless the film was tripe of course).

I don't know what to rate it. Wish I hadn't seen it in a way, but was still interesting viewing.

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.

It was good, but not great. I loved the acting and the photography, but storywise it wasn't that special compared to countless other murder thriller films. I gather, from talking to my wife, that the book is much more complex, so maybe the book is more impressive as a book, than the film is as a film.
