What film did you watch last night?

Watched The Bluff on prime.
Pretty much a pirate john wick wannabe with no sea faring action at all.
Karl Urban is solid as the villain but the film overall is average at best.
5/10

Kraken (2025). Too much Russian glaring, not enough creature.
And when the 3 man team were in the mini sub it became hysterically bizarre how the captain kept getting right next to the other crew members. I know it was to frame the shot but it just made me laugh at his apparent utter lack of awareness for personal space.

Buffaloed - a solid 8/10 comedy drama, I enjoyed it. Been meaning to give this a watch for a few years after seeing Zoey Deutch in Zombieland 2, but sort of forgot about it until I noticed it on Prime last night.

I Swear (2025)

My local indie cinema was showing this film today, and I'm on annual leave this week, so it was a no-brainer to finally go and watch this!

One of the best films I have ever seen. Emotion, laugh out loud moments and education - it has got it all. I have learnt a bit more about Tourette syndrome from this film, and it really shone a light on how difficult it must've been back in the 80s and 90s to develop Tourettes in your teenage years.

A brilliant and touching film. I highly recommend everybody to watch it.

10/10

Weapons 5.5/10
I watched it for the second time last night. I didn't think it was anything special, and apparently it was quite a hyped movie.
Its an interesting story to begin and I liked the ambiguity of the real cause of events in the first half.
Its told through multiple POV, and there's some repetition there. How the mystery is uncovered is basically luck, and none
of the characters do anything that commendable except J Brolin's. Though I wasn't fully engrossed last night and I missed bits.
The final third is a lack lustre payoff.

The Bride - Frankenstein comes to America because he's lonely and seeking an undead companion. A feisty girl meets her and and the mad scientist/doctor re-animates her. She has lost all her memory since dying so she's told they were married before her death. Things get out of hand and it all gets a bit Bonny and Clyde with some singing and dancing thrown in. Chased by cops and gangsters at same time. Very predictable for me but the cast are good enough to make it watchable. 6/10

Nobody 2.

Not as good as the first one, but was reasonably entertaining once it got going.

Thankfully it was only 90 mins so not to drawn out. 6/10

Watched this and The Running Man earlier this week.

Nobody 2: agreed, not as good as the first, but was short and fun. Lendina, i did not recognise Sharon Stone!

Running Man: not as good as the Arnie version, but again, was fun. The Arnie version did the gaining public support and tearing down the 'man' element and ending much better.
